our own history tells us that it was not the natives that began this blood shed like that peruvian police officer would lead you to believe. Police in peru aren't paid very well, corruption is a common practice. Now add oil on native land and some very ambitious men. Keep in mind that this president Alan Garcia has been linked to over a thousand political "disappearances" as well as millions falling from the sky into his pocket magically! sadly the natives are in the middle of it all.

24 policemen killed, 5 indians and 4 habitants of Bagua. Comunist and nationalist, by political interests, created the violence in protest against a law that specifically protects the indigenous land as well as the selling of the amazon land. This is a complicated issue. Peru needs the energy for its development, but the cost is part of the Amazon basin.
