There's a Japanese Trailer of 3 EDF games coming out. First is a PSP version of EDF 2 (by Sandlot).

Second is a trailer of EDF Insect Armageddon (by Vicious Cycle) with cool gameplay action! It looks AWESOME!

Last one is Earth Defense Force 4 (by Sandlot) but I think that is gonna be Japan only...

this vid. shows everything, i love it!! im only 4 levels away from completing all the missions on (hardest). the only problem that im having is the spiders... they gang up on me so fast, depleating all or all most all my health. any hints that might help? oh and do you get the lysander (F or Z) hardest or inferno?? ive beat most of the game on inferno, need about 20 more levels... ^^^^^^please reply^^^^^^^

@waitingtoliberate I got my Lysander Z on level 46 I think, the one in the cave where you run up the slopes. I think it was on hardest difficulty. To deal with spiders I usually lay down a ZER-type weapon

All weapons AGAIN! That means on another account. Me and my brother got on his account first [CookieReaver kk] then I got on mine with a little help for some levels [Everagon] (i know the name is lame... :\) Only a few levels were pretty hard this second time :] I missed the game and had forgotten how fun it were before. It was so much easier to do the last level with lysander Z instead of Lysander 2! As I said before: BEST GAME EVER!

PS: I did it the last hours of 2009 :P Just in time!

I think Im gonna get this game for the 360 maybe and theres also another game just life EDF, Dynamic Slash or Zangeki Reginleiv, some sort of a spiritual sequel, but instead of guns and aliens, its swords (over 300 confirmed) and monsters. Plus it has online co-op. Though its only going to be on the Wii so if you only have a 360 and want a sequel yor out of luck.

I spent about 10 hours hunting for my ZEX-R turrets then another 20 or so farming Mission 46 on Inferno with my ZEX-Rs to get the Lysander Z. I haven't beaten Inferno or Hardest but I have 169 weapons. I'm so happy! ^_^

I use 2 controllers. I have player 2 just cycle between ZEXRs while I have player 1 run around with a Ly Z and Stingray MF99 or something else...

It got a UK PAL release by the name of Global Defence Force. I've got it, but I wouldn't say it is better. It is about the same. PROS:

. A Chick character with extremely powerful energy weapons and a jetpack

. A lot more enemies including a mothership 10 times the size of EDF2017's one, Woodlice Roller Bots, Meteor Bots and length-varying centipedes.

CONS:

. No voice acting

. No allied AI

. Graphics are strange

. Ravager (Gigantor in GDF) models move you around if caught under them.

it's fine to hop in one to get a moment break - I like to hop in the tank and fire a couple of rounds off while driving away from danger, but unless you've got something with the helicopter figured out I don't think that you'll be able to do a lot of damage with the vehicle

I seriously doubt it - I can't believe the REAL Earth Defense Force would go all bad guys on us. The EDF in Red Faction (which DOES stand for Earth Defence Force) are oppressing the people on Mars, to which a small group of freedom fighters known as the Red Faction are attempting to rise up to rid Mars of the EDF.

This game is amazing. It's funny that some people complain how it's cheaply made (it is... but it's better than 99% games sold at full price).

It's also the only one where I've gotten the real survival horror feel that you are going to die... And that's even with all weapons having infinite ammo in the game.

But when you just look at your radar and see the 500 or so dots there, and know that they are all huge ass giant spiders...

This is one challenging game and it takes much dedication to get all 1000G. I only need 2 more for hard, wrath and convergence. I end up getting raped no matter what and when I try to get better weapons by playing earlier stages on hardest or inferno I get squat. 110 hours... man. I have about 30. I doubt I can last that long.
