  • OMFG 2 hours for 4 minutes worth of video :'(

  • Thanks for the help. LOL I hate how sometimes the answers are so simple.

  • you sound like greyson chance

  • i was just about to hit the x button on all this rambling. but i did get the info i needed so...thanks. i guess.

  • Hearing your voice reminds me of how I got started doing so many things on the computer: From my kids! You have done an exemplary job here by simply remembering to teach us the basics. I plan to watch all of your FCE videos. I think you're awesome.

  • When editing my films i'm using all my original clips from my HD Sony Bloggie filming in 1280x720 60p and import all the files normally but i have to render the clips over and over again every time i do something to it even with simple things like over lapsing two clips... Is this normal for the clips i'm using cause they're HD or have i missed something???? Also it takes an annoyingly long time to render my footage even with short clips???

  • @FilmsSeymour I dunno what to tell you man, when you have to render, you HAVE to render. Maybe try Googling specific tips for that type of footage

  • my biggest problem is Ive been shooting some really nice stuff with my canon 7D in 24p 1920x1080 and when i put the stuff off of my HDD onto my computer's desktop the video looks fine, but it's when I try to import it and render it into fcp that the video quality gets awful,. The 7D makes near-to-film images but when fcp is done with it, it looks worse than a sd webcam... now Ive tried many ways to trans code it in mpeg streamclip, but I don't think it has any relation,

  • Man, are there any tutorials that aren't made by kids that waste time saying UM and UH?

  • thanks this helped me out!

  • thx for the help watched all the totrials they helped alot use to using vegas pro 8 9 jus got final cut exp.4 love live type this program is more advanced/difficult but im gettin the hang ove it then vegas will ask if i have more problem thx.

  • what settings do you use to export like what compression type do yu use h.264 or dv ntsc

  • @rxtrerx hmm I don't know the exact settings cuz I use Final Cut Pro now and always export using Compressor. Maybe check google?

  • Ahhh brill vid helped me a lot carry on the good work for us n00bs

  • how can i turn my video into a format that will allow me to burn to dvd??

  • @TMTPTV just export it as a quicktime and iDVD should convert it when you bring it in. if you are using another program you should export it as a MPEG-2 DVD

  • a command r renders a selected clip option r renders everything that needs to be rendered also on my macbook i use rt unlimited to preview it even though some clips can be laggy which is when i need to render them

  • you talk like george bush aahh dude!

  • i rendered it, but it only rendered the video, not audio, how can i do audio 2?

  • @dany55655 make sure you don't have anything specific selected in the Timeline

  • @360GamerXlX Red Bar = Render

  • @360GamerXlX you will ALWAYS have to render something. You can't always predict when you need to, but there are no tricks to get around rendering it. If you see the red bar, render it

  • for some reason it doesn't render when i push render all or any of the render buttons. it only loads for like half a second and doesn't really render it because the red line doesn't go away. can anyone help?

  • Very good video man, I just need all these helpfull infos, thank you, you save my day. Cheers from Brazil! ;)

  • If you had an unrendered effect in your movie and you export it when you watch the exported movie will it still say "unrendered" or will it work? Basically I'm wondering if you only need to render in order to view it in final cut

  • @jelinface yea I think. just try it and find out

  • Thank you Parker.

  • when you say export it into a mov format what do you mean?

and you said i cant move project files?

    than what can I movE?

  • @JusJerkTV you export your video from FInal Cut. Then you import that video into After Effects.

  • @JusJerkTV exporting it means making into a movie.

  • can i move files and clips from final cut express to after effects?

  • @JusJerkTV as long as you export them out in a format both programs can read. you cant move project files though. i suggest exporting everything into a .mov format then bringing it into the other application

  • Dude, Im using FCE4 for the first time, its my first imac, 4gb 1tb core duo, this one little clip, 31.2mb is taking 45 minutes to render, what am I doing wrong ?

  • this seems rather tedious...

  • I have FCE 4 - is there a way to set the settings so I do not have to render every time I edit?

  • Im almost positive not. Rendering is a critical thing in Final Cut

  • Damn I've got the same problem. I render the clip and then I do one little cut and I have to render all over again! It's a pain!

  • i know it is, well do you have a fast computer?

  • I have a brand new 17 inch Mac Book Pro with 500GB hardrive, 4GB ram, and a 2.8GHz intel Core 2 Duo processor. Is that fast? I know I have lots of space, at least!

  • i was thinking it might be annoying to render every couple of times , if you had a slow computer but if you have a comp that fast it should be no big deal

  • @GojiGuy That is insanely fast!

  • Can you render things to a separate hard disk drive? If so, HOW?

  • Yes, that's what I do. Go to Final Cut Pro (from the top menu bar)>System Settings>Click "Set" and choose a folder on your external hard drive. Make sure you have your hard drive plugged in before you do this.

  • Thanks, for all of your help.

  • im working with the twin effect

and every time i move it to see if i timed it right i have to render

    any suggestions

  • thanks alot bro..soaked up a lotta game off this 1

  • I've finally figured out the settings for my camera and FCE combination- I was having a problem with my A/V sync but now everything looks great but my video stops at 2:45 and it is a 3:07 minute clip? Can you help?

  • What do you mean by "My video stops at 2:45?" Do you mean that you were given a time restraint and you are not allowed to have the video over that length for whoever the video is for?

  • hey thanks man...this is what i was loking for..jeje..ur da best..!!..0_0

  • when i save my video it will no longer let me render it.. i was hoping you would no why

  • hi i'm having a problem with express, when i tried to render my video with audio, an error message came up saying 'this software is unable to play the audio track, please open it in itunes' i've tried changing the extension and it was a song i bought off itunes but it won't let me play it, do you know what to do? thanks ^_^

  • Yeah I've had that. Try watching my Importing tutorial and you may be able to find some help. If not please message me back

  • this video helped me out in a bind so thank you, couldn't figure out how to convert a final clip and this showed me just want i needed

  • thanks
