It was fun going onto Google Earth and "flying" your downwind, base and final, just to see what kinds of elevations you were dealing with.
And like FPV, yeah, I could do that too... ;-) if I could ever advance beyond tricycle, and flatland, and being low time, and no mountain experience, and...
I think this is your best video so far! First time I saw someone fly that far along the river on the approach. It seems most drop in later and hang to the right side of the valley until the cross the river and line up for final. Your wing strut mount gives a much better perspective of the approach. Thanks!
This is defiantly a non standard approach that leaves few options if a engine mishap were to happen. But conditions were ideal and I figured I'd have a little fun while having a little fun. :)
I could do that if I was that good of a pilot, lived in that amazing area all my life as opposed to this flatland, wasn't too scared, knew the land and weather that well, had that good of an airlplane, and a few other factors. But other than all those factors I could do that :)
And neat seeing that other plane on the downwind...
