She should have instructed the audience (children) to either have a parent or older person MELT the chocolate chips in the microwave. Melting might seem like a brainless task, however, with any kind of butter, cheese, or chocolate..you usually have to stop the micro to stir it and ensure that it hasn't burnt to the bottom of the bowl.
