I'm a chemist Your Both wrong! Yes a M-80s flash powder is considered to be a low explosive However it breaks the sound barrier and also creates no gas like gunpowder & low explosives so in that aspect it is a high! In all others it is definately a low. In the eyes of the law you are charged with having a high! They arguement goes on weather or not it should have it's own classification! I make pest control salutes for agriculture use and farmers & airports. And fireworks now you know.

@Futjoehalo Why not just mix your own and put the flash in proper nice thick walled tubes instead of plastic that throws shrapnel. It hurts when it hits you in the eye or the face! And if you don't have the means to make your own or get tubes. As a professional may I tell you how to get a excellant result the same way. All you have to do is tape 20 m-80s together when one goes they all go and you will get the same equivelant bang even better than if you unroll them and put them into a bottle!

I'm not acting like Mr know it all But I am 47 and have done this for a living since I was 20.High explosives and flash are like comparing oranges & apples infact thats to close there both fruits lol Flash has some property's of high like shock wave emits no gas. Fuck M-80. Go grab a 12"inch Piece of PvC at 6mm thick or so and grab 2 end caps for it and just fill it full of BP and pack it as tight as you possibly can and then cap it off cement glue it up drill a saftey fuse about 10yards long into it cement glue it also.

wtf are you talking about? An m-80 is not considered a high explosive, APAN or PETN etc is a high explosive. And 12 grams of flash wouldnt even be equal to 1 gram of nitroglycerin(dynamite) so you fail.

m80 =3 grams

m100 =10 grams

1/4stick =20 grams

1/2stick =35 grams

m1000 =50 grams

an m80 is about 1/100 the power of a real stick of dynamite

You shouldn't use sulfur in flash powder; it makes it very unstable. All you need is potassium perchlorate and dark aluminum powder.
