Mark as Lester was GREAT! Beakman's World was one of my favorite shows growing up and now I watch it on Netflix Streaming with MY child. My son is nearing his first birthday and everytime Lester is on the screen he giggles uncontrollably.

I am 64yrs old and still watch Beakman's World every day. I love it.

I just watched the episode on What causes Farts. I laughed so hard when Lester knocked over the bottles at the end,I decided to look up the show on youtube.

I see that Mark has passed and it makes me very sad.

And I was so happy when it came back to the idiot box in 2006. (Most recently--early-2010--it was on the spanish channel on cable.) It was great seeing Beakman (ol' crazy Paul), Senta Moses (cutie!!!), Eliza Schneider (sexy!!!), Alanna Ubach (HOT!!!), and Mark Ritts as 'Lester.' Did any of the former go to his service? I'm guessing they did.

Damn, he died a little over a year ago! I'm being so serious here...I did not know that until just a few minutes ago tonight on New Year's Eve, 2010 @ 11 p.m.. I'm so serious. December 2009...well, it had been a month since the Yanks had brought the title back home again, so I suppose was still a little caught up in that. But, wow...it's a shame he's been gone for over a year now and I didn't know it. I was one of the biggest "Beakman's World" fans in the world in the 90's...

I still remember when I was a kid and saw Beakmans show here in spain to see the experiments but as many of you agree he was the character that kept you waitin for some laughs during the program.

I can't believe I never heard about this.

I remember him, I actually sent an e-mail to him, and guess what...HE RESPONDED!!! I asked him if he ever thought of doing a show called "Lester's Woild", he said it sounded fun, then asked me if "SalaComMander" meant I was the commander of some kind of salad.

An exact quote from his e-mail was "You're ALL RAT with me"

I shall never forget this man, his wacky antics, and most of all, his kindness.

Ooooohhh what sorrow.... The day I learned Mark was no longer with us I cried for days!!! One of my biggest role models was gone; A genius was gone!

And it made me sadder that I did not have the opportunity to let him know how much I admired him!In how much he made an impact in my life growing up watching him entertain me, make me laugh and together whith Paul Zaloom (Beakman) made me learn. Oh what a team!!!

wow thats a shocker beakmans world was one of the best if not the only good science for kids programming. it took out the boringness and brought in fun entertainment.. lester the rat was my favorite never quite explained wether he was a rat or man in a rat suit...kinda went both ways depending on the episode really...this show and lester will be missed
