Worst tutorial ever!!!!! Instead of clumsing around with the warp-markers, and with the audio file, the only 2 things you gotta do are: 1 make the loop 8 bars 2 drag the last warp-marker untill it fits 8bars. Simple as that. The audio will automatically adjust to the tempo of the song.
@juliusrox00 "Worst tutorial ever".. 99 likes says otherwise. There are better ways of warping, agreed. This video is 2 years old, Julius...did you know everything you know 2 years ago? I doubt it, bro
@juliusrox00 Im glad you believe you are at your pinnacle of knowledge! Its amazing that you no longer need to progress, learn new techniques and improve your music. *listens to your music* ..oh wait, you are a bullshitter. :)
I'm sorry but I got a track remix ready to go but its not gunna happen cuz I can't for the life of me sync the acapella, been at it two days and I'm finding it near impossible, tho your video does seem to be the best online, is a vocal melody harder to sync then a rap? I would assume so as a rap is more beat syncopated then a melody, anyways this is driving me mad seems impossible
what exactly does consolidate do and is there any other advice you could give me?
@1robertpolson Warping/syncing vocals is tricky, I know it sounds absurd, but try reading the manual. I can guarantee after reading the warp-related sections you will be more clued-up. Its in the Ableton install folder under 'docs'. Good luck.
@manosemd hmm.. might sound dumb..but are u using the metronome feature? If you are recording using the metronome you wouldnt really have to use warping...in such case - disable 'warp' and just record with the metronome, then consolidate the clips and THEN enable warp (if you want to fix any loose timings) Hope that helps
@eArtrash 1.disable warp 2.record 3.consolidate the clips 4.enable warp...but during the recording warp was on...am i deaf or ableton warp the vocals during recording???that is my question...
@manosemd You didn't answer my question..nor did you read my reply properly. Sorry but I think there is a language barrier here and I am unable to help you. Good luck with your problem though.
@manosemd No Ableton doesn not warp during recording. it makes a warp marker at the beginning though, but that should not affect your time. My only guess is either your grid is wrong, or you are indeed having latency issues.
dude, you are so fucking awesome!!! i'm new to ableton, and i spent all weekend using the ableton manuals trying to figure out how to warp vocals and get the timing right and i never could figure it out. that is, until i just watched your video. you rock!!! thanks so much for making it easy to understand and giving a real hands-on approach to teaching. i'll be checking out the rest of your videos now for sure. thanks again!!!
Thank you very much! This video is fantastic. I don't get what problems ComingWithTheClouds had with it, I think it's perfect, and it helped me. ty again
Dude I kid you not, your tutorials are incredible. I started using Ableton TWO DAYS AGO and you've already got me side-chaining, dubstepping, white-noising, warping. I swear to god you make it so easy to understand. Really, I don't want to sound crazy but I know there's tons of people like me who really, really appreciate it. Just great, great work man. Thanks so much.
the other ableton tutorials by other users on youtube are retarded. they are just playing their tracks and clicking and shit without explaining. there is one stupid nobhead who even forgets to add audio to his video.
A question that I coudln't try out yet: Why don't you warp the vocal to a certain bps instead of another audio track? You set the global bps to be the same as the drum bps (or even warp the drum too if you want different bps). Couldn't that work better and faster but with same result? Or the results are different if you do as I mentioned?
I know another way to sync vocals and its even less minotinous
1. acitivate the fruity slicer
2. Drag the acapella into it
3. make the pattern in the proper bpm
thats how I made my hbfs remix
p.s.
I know we got off on the wrong foot here so i want to appologize for being a total ub3r D-bag with a capital D. so any way hope you accept it. and if you do contact me. p.s.s. if you're intrested wanna collab with me and my group?

I don't wish to be negative but that has to be the hardest and most complicated way I've seen vocals matched to a beat in Ableton.
