@dolbymandts They can be quite a bit more expensive ($250k range) but the biggest reason to use pneumatic actuators for animatronic figures is the maintenance required to keep them running in good shape. Air is also cleaner and more reliable than hydraulic/compliant, that is why so many themeparks use them. They sure do look sweet, though! Good question!
