Music video that is talking to you and telling you a story through its song lyrics and melody and scenes in perfect harmony - like here in your Simba's Rhapsody. You succeeded. I was a bit worried about this because I felt like I'd been left behind in the evolution of AMV making, seeing nearly everyone being so competent with effects now. But this experience has made me remember what I had forgotten, which was why I made AMVs in the first place. Maybe I don't need to change how I make videos, I'll just use the style I've always had :)
Yes, you are right! You need not to change your style only because many of others did it. Keep what you like and stay true to yourself!
I also saw many of the "effectsfull" videos, some of them are very good, but I simply can't do this type of videos, so despite of the majority I will still keep my own style.

But I watched this video, and... I got it. Well, I always knew what the song was about, but knowing and feeling are two seperate ideas, and this made me feel it. You did a supreme job matching clips with lyrics, and general tone of the instruments (as always).
The strange thing is that even in this song, I always kinda' detected a... survival? Maybe. But Kiara at the end portrayed that hope well.
