I haven't talked to my father for 8 years either. This was from 2001-2009. Then we started speaking again, but the relationship hasn't been the same ever since. :/

@jennor81 well... he and my mom had some problems so they decided to get a divorce and in a process he was just being unnecessarily mean to her, me and my baby brother. So after I moved away with my mum I decided I didn't need him and his destructive behaviour in my life anymore. So I just never visited, never returned his calls... How about you?

@LittleMissAnuska Yeah mine is still a lot more complicated than that. I still havent spoke to him.. going over 10 years now. And in my own personal opinion- hes already dead to me. However, its good that your talking to your dad though. Its good to have a healthy relationship with your folks :D

@jennor81 yes those things are always complicated... I don't know about healthy... we have some kind of relationship, but it's very formal and we don't really see each other that much. But everyone has their own story and reasons, you probably have good reasons to still not speak to him. And if you choose to never speak to him again, you must feel that's for the best. I just hope you are happy nonetheless and have other relationships that fulfill you.
