LOL i just added this to my playlist..gonna drive my mother nutz with this one after i put it on Cd!! i am in my 30's.. and remember these songs! good memories =)
I've always wondered if this was just meant to be cute, or if there was a subliminal message in this saying; "Kids, don't play with the phone or you'll wind up in trouble".
@bonzoscarpetcleaning Me too! I've always wanted to see what she'd do! Nowadays she probably wouldn't call the police, she'd probably just either hang up on you or sit there and laugh away -especially if she grew up watching this!
Sesame Street, School House Rock, and Infocom. Three reasons why the 70s and 80s were the best time if you wanted to have smart, independently, and creatively thinking kids.
'Rock, rock, rock! The telephone rock! Everybody's singing...!' To which I respond...'Go, go, go! 70's Sesame Street! It's the greatest thing!...' Thanks, thanks, thanks for posting!
A true classic. One that stayed in my head for years afterward. When I heard on here for the first time three years ago, it sounded as familiar as if I had heard it last just a week ago.
I first heard this when I watched the Rock 'n Roll vid as a girl. Years later, I can't get it out of my head! Stuff like this does that to you, and I'm glad it does.
Cerf and Stiles, in my opinion, definitely wrote the most addictive Sesame Street songs. I can't listen to any of them without replaying it atleast once ...twice ...thirty seven times. JK
That's definitely the case with this one and others like Put Down the Duckie or Monster in the Mirror.
Nice Classic!

I just turned 18 yesterday and have great memories of seeing this sketch on Sesame Street's Rock & Roll. This was priceless.

I feel like calling the operator right now and putting the receiver up to my computer. Actually I've only dialed 0 once in my life.

The brown-haired one with the beard reminds me of Zach Galifianakis.

Sometimes i feel bad for Chrissy since he's cramped in the middle between Rockin' Richard and Big Jeffy.

Thank you Nanto! This is the only one I would have requested. One of my all time absolute favorites. :)

Glad the full version is up again. This is one of my favorite Little Jerry songs.
And I agree, it is one of the all-time catchiest songs.

This certainly is one the best Sesame Street songs.
