  • Replicas and Pleasure Principal are 2 of the best records to ever grace electronic music, hell, music in general!

  • It was actually march 29th 1980 The Touring Principle. Numanme website has a list of every gig.

  • I like how he performs the track now, but this version with the slower tempo (like in the album) is more dramatic. I wish they would've included this track in "Living Ornaments '79." This definitely must've been 1979 because they're still using the Touring Principle set and costumes. The tour ended in Australia in early '80, I believe. Then they launched right into Teletour. The man hardly stopped to breathe back then. Sheer excellence!

  • I read that Numan didn't plan to be all gothic and eerie on stage, that he had stage fright and then behaved like that.

    But it sure looked cool!

  • Awesome early days punk New Wave.

    Hate change

  • I love how all the focus is on Gary all the time with the lights and never on the band members. It's a good thing that the props were lighted because if that was me playing whatever instrument I wouldn't be able to see!

I love all Gary's ideas, I don't care but that probably all fed the fire of the media at the time complaining and saying how Gary was 'arrogant' all the time. Just sayin.

  • Lucky frogs! Cause this is HOT! The man is carved out of ice or crystal or something and his eyes are like shards of glass!

  • My, my. He was so beautiful; in a really suave, elegant way.

Bringing us the cold, esoteric sounds of the future, thanks Numan~

  • @CerebralCrisis OK? Tell me about it. Gary back in this tour in '79 was unreal in every sense of the word. He looked handsome, pretty, sexy, calm, androgynous, menacing, sadistic, mean, mad, and android-like all at the same time in this vid. The sweat on his face makes him look like he's about to explode!

I like my men exotic and weird but not ugly. His body is good! Take me higher Lord! Back then he looked like a fragile piece of crystal by Lalique even his skin color looks like it.

  • Numan at his peak.....this is an awesome version of a classic track.

Never hit these heights again though - shame!

  • great stuff very dark & atmospheric song my favorite Numan track!
