When I was a kid I remember him singing this on an awards show during the tribute to recently deceased artists. I want to say it was the Oscar's but I'm not positive. Stuck in my mind because it was the perfect song for the situation.
It was played during a montage on a show titled something like "Alan King's Year-end Review".
Alan King was a comedian I never cared for, but this show was terrific and gave me a new appreciation for him. Wow, this goes back 30 or so years ago...
The best part of the show was when they showed pictures of people that had passed that year with "This One's For You" playing in the background.
I wish this show was available on DVD. I would buy it.

This is a psycho-spiritual healing technique — releasing unexpressed feelings. You may use it to connect to similar feelings inside of you and dedicate to someone who you think you didn't express this feelings when there was an opportunity. When I was a kid I remember him singing this on an awards show during the tribute to recently deceased artists. I want to say it was the Oscar's but I'm not positive. Stuck in my mind because it was the perfect song for the situation.

I sure do.
It was played during a montage on a show titled something like "Alan King's Year-end Review".
Alan King was a comedian I never cared for, but this show was terrific and gave me a new appreciation for him. Wow, this goes back 30 or so years ago...
The best part of the show was when they showed pictures of people that had passed that year with "This One's For You" playing in the background.
I wish this show was available on DVD. I would buy it.
