  • ....what about when opening the garage door? i suppose that lock goes back inside so the door can open right?

  • These locks work with Marantec openers, the carriage on a Marantec cannot be released like the ones in the "6 second break in" video. So buy a Marantec opener and don't worry about the auto-lock.

  • @hollywudbob Marantec is the manufacturer of the Viper GDO but one would have to "special order" a Marantec Opener from the factory to accommodate the Locmatic. If the a door has Windows one could eaisly be broken and the release pulled on any type opener. This is just a deterrent and piece of mind. We include the Locmatic with the purchase of the Viper X-70. We have installed over 500 of these Viper openers and locks in Southern Calif since May. The home owner like the extra security.

  • @chasc44 Yeah I know, I work for a Marantec dealer in FLA. It's nice to hear that you're busy, we're dead over here.

  • @hollywudbob ..I just bought The Garage Shield. It was really simple to install (2-minutes) and really inexpensive!!!You need to check out .........thegarageshield..........

  • Thanks chasc44, sure do appreciate that.

  • where can you find the viper gdo

  • @shinez58 Purchase from On Trac Garage Company

  • @shinez58 Call the garage door companies in your area and find one that sells Marantec openers. This specific lock is an option that is available on Marantec openers and only certain models. Chamberlain/LiftMaster/Craftsman openers have a similar optional lock that is also only available on certain models, so you'll likely have to completely replace your opener in order to have an automatic lock installed.

  • @hollywudbob Thanks so much. Greatly appreciated.

  • 1. no windows eliminates this...2. too much time they want in they will go to the back of the house not front. 3. Jack shaft openers do not have that accest and a bolt that locks it like the one showed

  • This is nice! Clearly the solenoid pulls the lock back in before the door reopens - I like it! It would be cool if your video also showed the ease of unlocking opening as well. Cheers!

  • Looks to me like the door would be jammed when you tried to open it with the electric opener next time too.

Kinda looks like a one time lock???

  • no...it actives-- open/close each time you push the remote or wall unit. You can also switch it permanetly off from a switch on the lock itself
