  • This was s great video. I like all the comments also. The extra tips are helpful.

  • run your engine so because hot oil drains faster then let the engine cool so the oil doesn't burn you haha

  • this helped alot thanks >=)

  • Pretty good. Thanks. I didn't know about the running the engine for 10 minutes to help it drain faster.

  • Good Video .when will Change Your Motor Oil You can Buy at cheapmotoroils

  • Hey bro i have a question. Supose I have a a bucket of burned (used) motor oil, soak someone with it for recreational porpouses (airplane pilot baptism) and by accident a cigarrete flame touches the oil. Will this set the guy on fire? Im kind of concerned about this since my baptism 2 years ago.

    Thanks.

  • This is a good instructional video direct precise simple and to the point thanks for posting this. I think most all how to videos should be in this manner.

  • 2:18 That oil is burnt!

  • @rax2099 jiffy lube charges 59.99 for oil change

  • Informative. Probably should wear some eye protection though just in case.

  • your not supposed to tighten a filter with a wrench....

  • yeah don't dump old oil anywhere, dump it everywhere.

  • @wojtek0000

    Must work for BP :)

  • If i don't have this exact song playing in the background will i still be able to change my oil myself?

  • @wojtek0000 thanks for making me laugh haha :)

  • did that guy just put used oil in that car?

  • very nicely done ;)

  • Dipstick? Really?

  • 1 have a 1991 ford ranger custom/ regular cab, 2 change the oil is there any gaskets that need 2 be replaced? like is there 1 on the drain plug thing or not?, also my dipstik tube nt the actual dipstick bt the tube it goes in,... it is loose and when i went 2 check the oil 2 day it came up, like the whole tube raised up abt 3 inches... is this bad???

  • What is that liner music? I love it!

  • JUST KIDDING DON.T DO THAT

  • you should spray it on your lawn, it will grow thick and green.

  • i dump it in the woods

  • can you add too much oil? if so what can go wrong?

  • You can of course add too much oil. This can cause various issues. Oil being whipped up by the crankshaft journals gets frothy and aerated. This can be harmful to camshafts and bearings. Too much oil can also get burned off, causing excess emissions. You can also get blown-out engine seals. Always make sure the oil level is correct for the car!

  • car will stall

  • never ever use an oil filter wrench to tighten on the filter. filters are to be hand tight. and lubricating the gasket before hand is to keep it from melting to the mounting plate and making it extremely difficult to remove. and most CARS take 3.5-4 quarts start low its allot easier to add more oil then drain

  • what happens if you add too much oil?

  • Your Car Will Stall..... Listen Closely

  • when draining the oil you should remove the oil filler cap, as oil can drain faster and easier

  • Baba Nam Kevalam.

  • If you can't drink motor oil, I would imagine it isn't a good idea to grease your anus with either.

  • Personally i have found with the vehicles ive owned is that you cant always depend on the manual for all the answers. Including locations of the filter or oil plug. The Auto Companies sometimes like to instead advise you to go seek you local dealer for help, which may end up having them do it for you. Spending money required. lol

  • In my opinion, if you can't find the oil filter and oil pan in a vehicle visually, you probably shouldn't be wrenching around on your vehicle. Take a trip to a garage to have your oil changed.

  • I have a burnt out lightbulb. Could you please make a "how to" video on how to swap out one of those?

  • lol, theres no way that thats new oil the hes putting in

  • yes,i thought the same.

  • HHO hydrogen is a huge myth. Water is a stable molecule, you need to put more energy in to seperate it than you will get by recombining H2 with O2 to form water.. That's just basic thermodynamics.

  • this video has nothing to do with HHo .Yes it does take little more energy to remove the hydrogen/oxygen from the water BUT you don't understand how much of a boost in gas millage you get from A booster. Do your research before ya post crap.

  • This video was about changing your oil, the video in the comment I replied to was about HHO.

I do understand how much of a boost you will get. Less than the drain it will take to produce the hydrogen. Unless you are previous splitting the water using household electricity, then transporting it to the car, you will see a drop in mileage. If you are using the car's elec system to split it, you will see a drop in mileage, not an increase.

YOU do your research before you post crap.

  • Well understand That a 20ampdraw is NOTHING off the battery to give 70% of cars installed a 30% increase in gas millage 80-90 i have installed get 40-45 and some even get 50% .Now on bigger v8 that only been getting 10-11 mpg now get 18-20 mpg. Also Everyone seems to say there is a increase in HP which is correct a slight 10% in HP its like adding a small amount of nitro to the mix it burns at 16000btu ,gas 8000btu.

  • Go To School.

The amount of energy required to split H2O into H2 and O2 is exactly the amount the reaction puts out when you combust H2 in O2 to produce H2O.

In a perfect system, you will see a ZERO net power increase. In a practical system, you will see a drop in net power after installing such a system.

This is basic thermodynamics. If you could split H2O, then burn H2+O2 to make H2O and get an increase in power, you could have a perpetual motion machine.

  • No thats Totaly stupid you have no clue , Have you ran a GOOD Booster before .I think ya havent beacuse if you have you would not argue with me , I told you before i been running 1 in my van and building them for 2 years. The hydrogen added to the intake doesn not act in the way you think it does its totally different since it is already in a gas form before it hits the cylinders . Plz dude just stop the thermal dynamic Argument

  • And the .2-.3 mpg loss from the 20 amps being removed will and is now being replaced by a 5-9 mpg in new gas millage. When HHO is introduced into a older engine the Computer will lean out the gas to = the amount of hho coming in GAINING you that 30-50% increase . The more HHO you can produce the more you can lean the car out to a CERTAIN POINT . Ya talk to much crap about how it COULD be when you have never tested it for a long period of time .

  • And your comment that a 20 amp draw is "nothing" is also stupid, as most cars only have a 40-60 amp alternator (where the power ACTUALLY comes from). If you're wasting 20 amps to split H20, then you're burning more gas because your alternator is turning harder to compensate.

  • You are wrong you only lose .2 mpg form a 20 amp draw.Dude im telling you i been doing tests and runing and building them for 2 years.

  • good video for someone who doesnt know about working on cars but I have to say its important to pre fill you filters with oil before screwing them on

  • run the car 10 minutes to warm oil.. let car cool down.. oil gets hot.. what the fuck is the sens... and.. the purpose of putting oil on the rubber gasket on the filter is mostly for it not to stick on when you come to remove it again.. also.. if you need the wrench to tight your oil filter.. you need someone to change your oil for you. lololol also.. oil change frequency... its stupid.. run your engine like normal for 20000km or drive like crazy for 5000km your oil will look about the same..

  • hate to be bearer of bad news rudedude, but the purpose of putting oil on the gasket is to prevent the gasket from bunching up when you tighten the filter, thus ruining the seal. Also the reason you run your car first to warm the oil, is with warm oil that has been pumping, you help to remove any sludge, laying dormant in the bottom of the oil pan.

  • Meh, rather get it done by someone else.

  • lazy ass sucka :P

  • Price out the oil filter, oil, jack stands, drain pan, jack, drain plug gasket (if required),gloves, rags, gas money to bring the oil to a recycling station. Now add scraped knuckles, oil stains on the driveway, a wrench set, an oil filter wrench, a pair of coveralls or at least a set of undesired clothes. This is the time to consider that most cars have a maintenance schedule which requires that many systems are looked at. Phone the dealer or buy a manual. Now what is your time worth? $39? hahaha

  • Yea but your average guy who's even the least bit handy will only have to buy the filter and the oil and spend a little of his time. the absolute very first time i ever did mine thats all i needed to buy, i borrowed the filter wrench from a buddy for that, then bought one.

  • wow your a pussy, i am a 12 year old girl and i dont complain when i change the oil in my dads car. helicop you are huge pussy. oh do you need a band-aid for your scraped knuckles? You can be the chump, Dealerships charge 3 to 4 times the price of regular parts and service.

  • go to wallmart.. and u usually pay like 5 dollars to stay clean hun... lol.. but i change my own oil. too..

  • oil stains on your driveway wow big fucking deal scraped knucles wow gloves you dont need em and the fact that u even thought about calling the dealer to do that gose to show that ur the type that is afraid to get dirty and since u said gloves how the fuck are u gonna get scraped knucles and the dealers will rape u in the rices to change the oil

  • helicop, lets say you do spend the $39 for all of that to change your oil at home. Well, you wont need to buy the oil filter wrench, jack stands, drain pan, jack, gloves, and rags again because those are all reusable. So next time you only need to buy the oil and oil filter which honestly is only about $30. And we can cut out the gas money because you use gas money to go get your oil changed somehwhere. So really you are saving money doing it yourself. And you know it gets done right.

  • I think it cost more than 39 dollars. I have changed my own oil before. This video is a good reference. I will agree that you will know it is done right if you do it yourself. The more you can do for yourself the better.

  • 6000MILES! thats crazy, try every 5,000km and your engine will last forever.

  • 5000km is a good average for a brand new engine that's still seating in, but unless you do a lot of extreme driving, its more or less a figure made up to make you buy more oil changes.

Modern cars with oil-life sensors which detect viscosity breakdown will only go off every 5000km under extreme towing or other hard use scenarios. More often than not, they report a change required every 8000-10000km, or more for a commuter vehicle.

  • you should pour some oil in the filter so you are not dry starting the engine

  • thought it was great, learned a few things.

  • great info, except you need to mention that

glove's should be worn while preforming your

oil change. Noteing that used oil is toxic and

can cause cancer, stay safe kids.

  • you are the true friend of all ,thanks.

  • good Video

  • man that "new" oil looks like the oil that was just drained...

  • Put some clasi music, PLEASE! BUT, YOUR TEACHING IS GREAT!

    THANKS

  • some things you should consider adding to this would be to not tighten the filter with the filter wrench because some people will easily crunch the can or over tighten. Also its good practice to prefill your filter as to prime the system and not starving your motor for the first few moments that its operating.

  • Not that I'd like to have a hydrogen car, But do you know that gas is the cheapest liquid you can get at a gas station?

  • ...also, under no circumstances, play retarded music like this while your changing your own oil. LOL

  • Hi

can you help me to find a Renault 5 manual?

    thanks

    bye

  • hi .

    how can I find a RENALT5 manual .

  • Um, ok, warm it up, cool it off. How about telling the noobs "don't warm the engine to operating temperature then you won't have to cool it down"? Or how about noobs don't change the oil anyway so why even teach them in the first place.

  • what the hell was the point of your comment

  • He means let it cool down a little bit so its not as hot. I change my oil right after letting it run. Your not a real man till you get burned by engine oil.

  • haha riiight YOU MITE BE A REDNECK IF YOU THINK GETTING BURNT BY ENGINE OIL MAKES YOU A REAL MAN

  • The oil drains better and takes dirt with it if you let the engine run. Whenever we change oil we let it run for 10 to 15 minutes. And quit saying its to hot or it burns me. Pussy's

  • check the dipstick lol

  • haha lol

  • Video: "...change your motor oil yourself saving and money..."

Video description: "The following is for entertainment informational only, make sure to consult a professional."

    WTF ??!?

  • *time

  • That's some dark ass oil they're pouring in. You'd think for a Mazda, it would be 70% clear, such as 5-30 or 5-20.

  • Whats so hard about changing your oil?

  • You'd be surprised how many idiots there are out there.

  • ......

  • how to be a retard by you

  • Now the question is, how to take this video with me so I can watch it while I'm doing this.

  • LOL that is the question haha

  • If you are atemting to do an oil change dont use this source it will end up with you buring yourself possibly crushin your filter or burning the seal of the filter to your car

  • You don't need to engage a parking brake with an automatic transmission. Plus I'd like to see someone have an easy time changing a GM 2.2 4 cylinder oil filter on the ground, considering you have to reach your arm through along the drive axle to get at it.

  • Avoid GM 2.2 4 banger engines.

  • Treat them nice and they last a long time, just like most engines. It doesn't matter what you drive, don't redline it and keep the oil changed and you should be fine. Some of my customers have 400k plus on their 2.2 Cavs and they haven't had to do anything more serious than a radiator. Preventative maintenance does wonders.

  • My 4.6 Northstar V8 will go 400k miles plus, but I have yet to meet anyone with a 4 cylinder GM motor with that many miles on it. Those must have been a lot of highway miles.

  • If you don't engage the parking brake on an automatic, when you jack it up and the front wheels (the drive wheels on a majority of modern cars) leave the ground, then there's nothing HOLDING your back wheels, and the car can roll off the jack, easily.

  • I tend to not want to on most people's cars, cause they never get used and seize. If it's not on a hoist then just put some blocks of wood or something along with the jackstands to prevent it from moving.

  • Depends on where you live, I suppose. If an e-brake is seized in my area, they won't pass yearly safety inspection, so you can always assume it's free, otherwise it would have to be repaired within a year anyway.

  • For a couple bucks more you can take it in for an oil change and avoid the mess and hassle. I guess some people have nothing but time and oil on their hands.

  • i actually laughed at this

  • very helpful video...but if you have the extra cash, it's better for the "expert" to do it...

  • whats the difference? there is nothing the "expert" is going to do thats not in this video. Just a waste of money

  • what if you dont have the time

  • then i guess you dont do that

  • Don't forget to add a cup of sugar.

  • xD

but does that work in oil?

  • I suspect we'll start hearing of reports of people getting burned by hot oil now...

  • fraier

  • hard stuff ................not

  • I had no idea it was so complicated!

  • That was some pretty nasty new oil, i wouldn't even put that in a lawn mower. Plus if you do the filter first then it won't fall into a pan full of hot oil, plus when you break the seal on the filter some more old oil will drain into the pan.

  • Risking myself losing sight when hot oil leaks onto my face, I'd rather pay $40-60 dollars to get it replaced by a professional.

  • Nice

  • great now you'll have idiots burning themselves with hot hot oil and draining more toxic chemicals into the ground when they don't properly dispose of the oil and it goes into my drinking water.. ya stupid douche!

  • own3dd

  • so you run the car to heat the oil and then let it cool down before drianing because hot oil burns????? So the point of heating the oil for ten minutes was?????? Don't run the nengine that long..pointless.

  • ya 2 minutes will be good enough to warm it up with out making it hot. watch for my upload on oil change this sunday.

  • is that the guy from Felonny Fights???? it looks like him lol.

  • Leave to yo mama

  • Leave it to a professional...

  • awe u just beat me, second view and second comment

Good videos guys GlobeAffairs has videos like you cheak them out.

  • first veiw plus comment
