This sport was invented in England in the 19th century. They were good at in the begining (won 2 world titles), then they started to be overtaken by Southern Europeans in the mid 20th century.

I remember playing this. My team was the Olympia Warriors from washington state. We played against the Utica thunderbirds my Midget year (We beat them but lost to Bremerton) . We won nationals once and third twice

I Love This Sport and i play it in utica with bill schmelcher! i play goalie and its a lot harder in roller hockey than other hockey! so do u play roler hockey? if u do where?

I played it from the age of 7 till i was 21 in Portugal. I stil carry the scars. I screwed up knee, some broken teeth etc... Awesome game!

Uno de los grandes problemas de este deporte es que por televisión se ve muy mal. No tiene nada que ver verlo en la pista. Además, hay tradición en muy pocos países.

this is the kind of hockey played world wide like since forever. images of portuguese and spanish league and european championships. I figure you to be american. you play it on ice or with a bunch of protections and helmet and coarsed rules. the rest of the world plays like this for ages. now there's something like an iihf league also but no real value. latins rule, portugal, argentina,spain,italy. so america don't fall behind. FCP is the best club world wide, for sure :)))) Panchito very good:(

well that's it,elbows,knees,gloves and no more, only the keeper gets the full suit. very fast and very intense when well played. very good footwork from latin players, intense games amongst rivals like portugal/spain/argentina/italy­, or FCporto, benfica, barcelona, reyes... the ball cant hit the stakes, stick cant be lift above mid height and few rules for contact . penalties stick or run. "free kicks" run start from mid. "passive-play", draw back limit (blue line).the best!fast ball,fast moves!

(Cont.) In the case in Macau, the majority players are non-chinese, even in China cont. this sport is totally disappeared, surely it is totally ignored then discriminated by society. I hope if once join OG, this situation could relief then disappear.

As i know nor the Gov. want to give a decent condition(rink) for our hockey players to training. So, as a fan of this sport, i want hope of everyone of OC to think deeply about this situation.

My most interesting point is "What can i do to support Roller Hockey to join to OG?"

If roller hockey join to 2016 games, will be possible the team entries as each continent qualification system as soccer, if this could be agreed i wish "our" Macau team could go to Olympics without like now happening in World B to A, for me the actual system is totally unfair for asian fans, they couldn't playing against the best teams to learning more, then the level could not go further.
