  • CA is all over the place. And most of the highlights have a purple-ish hue. It makes the pictures look purplish and bluish. Nice cinematography though...

  • What about lenses?

What focal length it's similar to 30mm (35mm format)?

  • This turned out great, and what an excellent image this camera produces.

  • what editing program do u normaly use

  • i hace a problem with mine, my sd card class 10 32 gb just bought it today, it wont let me use it, it says check card

  • beautiful story

  • What a wonderful shallow depth of field and warm colors! Almost the best "film camera" in the terms of price-performance ratio! If I had enough money, I'd buy it immediately...

  • Lovely music. Amazing fit.

  • Hi im looking to buy (canon 5d mk 2, or panasonic ag af 101 or sony z7u.) i am based in uk england and i need the camcorder for documentary and music video. i want an easy camera with one allround lense and recorded in sd card. witch one is the best. every time i switch the camera on even in home family events i want it to look like celebrity cinema movie style. thanks what do u recommend?

  • Panasonic AF101... (get dslr camcorders, never get dslr photocamera for video)

  • Wonderfully shot and edited. Congrats !

  • 2 people own a Canon t2i :)

  • please, i need it so much

  • how did you find Holst japanese suite ?

can you arrange me, i ve been lookin it for many times

  • is the same camera here? /watch?v=RzFhM70PCE0

  • Dear Santa...:)

  • what lenses did you shoot with??? PLEASE ANSWER i'm thinking of buying this camera

  • @lucas6377 please read the blog post linked in the info. tells you everything

  • @philipbloom oh haha thanks

  • Awesome footage. I need this camera

  • Nice film, thanks for posting so we can see the Panny 101 in action. I have a couple of questions that I hope you can answer. 1. What lens were you using at the beginning (0:17)? 2. From about 4:30 on you shot night exteriors. Was this natural light, or did you have to light any of these shots? What were the setting of the camera when you were shooting (any and all shots)? Thanks!

  • edited with?

  • Fantastic film. I say film, not video, for this is what results from this amazing new video cam. It is the first time that I find footage taken with a dedicated video cam on equal level with the Canon 5D, in terms of color saturation, color correctness, sharpness and luminosity. Many other videocams, even expensive ones, can't match this quality.

  • man, the images are too real

  • this is great work. Very good camera.

I think I will buy it soon.

  • Very well executed work...no doubts of camera quality...One question:

Do you feel that the camera pays justice to what your eyes saw on that day??

    I'd like an honest opinion.

Whats the down side...if any??? do Nikon lenses work with this beautiful kit?

  • What lens did you use?

  • i have a question .. this video have not a after efect ?

    is this right ..

    ???

  • Wow, brilliant imagery, I have to say I've never been stunned by a youtube clip as I have by this one, amazing. What lens did you use?

  • wonderful footage but it still got that oversharp digital look..

  • @alexjit Dude that goes to show you not a film maker. I've directed over 6 full length features and 80 music videos and this short looks closer to 35mm than any DSLR footage I'v seen. The depths of field is not too much just enough as a 35mm will look. If anything all those DSLR cameras looks too music videoish! Too shallow for a real film maker. So go do your homework homie, once you done you will realize that this camera will hurt all those DSLR cameras. This camera is for movies, real movies

  • @guguemichaels

so you would recommend the Panasonic AG-AF 101?

Have you shot someting with it?

  • @DylanPenev Yes I strongly suggest the Ag-Af100 (USA) 101)UK, the image it produces is very clean and rich. It's more film like than anything out there. People think that DOF is film look but they are completely wrong. Film is rich, thick, clean once it's processed...and thats what the panasonic gives you. I'm shooting a full length in June with the Ag-Af100

  • @guguemichaels

Cool what will your film be about?

I want to shoot my epic fantasy film once I have my AG-AF 101

  • @DylanPenev It's based on a graphic novel, real wicked. I can't really talk about it...still working out all the logistics.

  • COLORS LOOK GOOD!

  • Nano flash?

  • Love the unobtrusive soundtrack.

  • Very nice, simply brilliant photography and the beauty of one man's everyday life so well. This short, as well as some others I've seen on here, have me incredibly excited about the AF100, as an indie filmmaker. I think some people are being overly critical by claiming it doesn't look like film. Not sure what their expectations are, but they should go buy a RED or an actual film camera. The AF100 isn't aimed at those people, from everything I've seen.

  • Superbes images et tournées avec talent...Bravo et j' attend que a caméra arrive en France....

  • THIS is simply amazing Im an indie film maker for 4 years now and i feel i must go back to the beginning after watching this. All around awesome!

  • Love it!!!

  • Beautiful images & composition, as expected! However, like the Sony AG10, this Pani AF100 looks like video. Great video, but this camera isn't even "film-ish" to coin a phrase. I had really high hopes for it, and will be testing it myself later this month. But if in the hands of master Philip Bloom it can't overcome the clipped out highlights and murky blacks of video, it might not be the killer cam we all want, even w/ its other great features.

  • Philip, you have such an amazing eye. Your compositions are beautiful and that camera does a wonderful job capturing your brilliance. I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed your photography here -- and what a great choice for the music!!! It's all put together so well! Thanks for posting this. I'm dying to get an AF100 myself, and this really closed the deal for me. Now, I just have to sell my HVX and M2 rig.

  • What type of lenses did you use?

  • I been encountering Philip Bloom's videos every now and then in the Internet. This one has amazement quality. It is a perfect camera test.

  • nice ;)

  • Beautiful music, wonderful video.

  • A young fella named Claude Quammie from Vistek in Canada suggested this camera to me and directed me to your site. The more I see and learn about this camera the more I'm liking it. Thanks for taking the time to check out this camera and posting the video. Excellent video.

  • this is the first ive heard of Holsts Japanese Suite =0 where did you find it? i cant find it anywhere! Cheers for the upload, just beautiful!

  • Im looking at getting a new camera... do u think the SONY NEX-VG10E or the Panasonic AF101 is better for short film productions??

  • you have a good eye sir

  • niceeeeee

  • do you like it more than the 7d?

  • I would like to know how you get the ultra slow motion at 3:42 since I cannot achieve the same results with the HVX or HPX at 60 fps and further slowing in post? Granted I think Vegas handles speed variation better than FCP but there must be a way to get a shot beautifully slow like that without a high speed camera (as is evidenced by that shot).

  • @prorobo twixtor plug in

  • @prorobo Have you tried optical retiming in Motion?

  • @prorobo After Effects + Twixtor 4.5... Just search for it on youtube.

  • @NikkLJs twixtor within FCP

  • @philipbloom well im using it in After Effects^^ but works pretty the same.

  • I just hope it don't make my 7D obsolete, lol.

  • @onjoFilms It's essentially a HPX body with the ability to accept EOS comparable lenses. I think you're too late!

  • @onjoFilms It just did. Haha

I kid. but at the same rate, I still don't understand what I could do with

    the AF100 that I couldn't do with a 7D or a mark II...

  • @SeanFilms Plug in an XLR, connect a BNC, hold it like a video cam (skateboarding, etc), control the audio levels, achieve a more professional look, among many other things?

  • Utterly fantastic camera. I cannot wait for its release!

  • Any aliasing?

  • @brt5470 none

  • Arigatou, Hirano San.

  • I'm excited to see what filmmakers do with this camera when it comes out. Philip, do you think you could do a test soon to specifically test how the sensor's rolling shutter? An action movie with mustaches!

  • Cheers mate! Absolutely superb.
