I probably wouldn't mind. My guns more or less are for hunting than self defense and there are plenty of other tools suited for that purpose (slingshots, crossbows, etc.). But those actually require skill so I guess that's why gun owners don't give it consideration.

We're constantly having to fight for our right to keep snakes in captivity ass pets but cats and dogs are acceptable. It's not so much the snakes as it is our right to a choice.

In WWII Americans donated hundreds of thousands of firearms to arm the British against the pending German invasion attempt (which ultimately failed due to loss in the air). You'd think they'd have learned that time that arms belong in the hands of the citizens. It jsut goes to show the flaws in the parliamentarian form of government where coalitions work against the interests of the people.

I'm a Brit and it's kind of true there is little gun crime, but you do fear being stabbed in the cities.
Last year, a man with a legal .22 rifle killed a load of people, but the govt couldn't do anything because what more can they ban? They can't ban double barrel shotguns and .22 rifles that kill rabbits and crows.
Thing to remember. 2million people marched in London out of a UK population of 60million to stop the Iraq invasion and it counted for nothing.
