This song is beautiful, but it was not composed by Ennio Morricone. It is the BSO of "The Alamo" (a western with John Wayne), and won the Oscar in 1960. Dimitri Tiomkin y Paul Francis Webster are the composers. Ennio has done some of the most beautiful BSO ever, but this is not the case. Hugs : )

Green leaves is more ancient than Texas or us, the base of the esence of this song was made in England in the middle ages or the century of the lights (renacimiento).

i dont know how many version i did hear all the time from this song. but i know, only one is realy fantastic. the original by dimitri tiomkin, to hear in john wayne's "The Alamo". most of the others are very pale, not so powerful like Tiomkin's original in Duke's Motion Picture.

Angelo this performance by Ennio Morricone of "The Green Leaves of Summer" is so beautiful and your video is amazing. Since Hollywood used it in Johh Wayne's "The Alamo", we Texas seem to claim it as our song. I have asked my children and grandchildren to play this at my funeral, The word....the green leaves of summer are calling me home, was so good to be young then....... I love it so much.
