@SouthSideNi99a dude i have the 2.2 OHV and i mean Base model 4dr 2000 cavalier no options except tis automatic and can top at 108MPH and 110MPH downhill. I hve been putting shell gas and penzoil high mileage and been running it better now. it takes me about 2 seconds to go from 70 to 90. used to take 4 seconds.
Stock these cars hit 60 in 8 seconds. With just an intake, header, DP, high flow car, exhaust, and a tune you are at about 7.2 second 0-60. Add a cam and it will do it in 7 with good tires. Not bad for a 2.2 liter motor.
considering a honda civic ex with a 1.6l d16z6 engine making about 126hp (not near the most powerful honda ever made...) will do 0-60 in 7.5 stock and your in the low 6's with boltons
yeah depending on condition (how the car was taken care of, millage, driver, ect. ect.)
i can speak from personal experence (i had a 1993 ex with d16z6 vtec 126hp 106ft-lbs
and stock with just synthetic motor oil and it would run 0-60 in about 7.5sec and after i did boltons. underdrive pulleys, adj. cam gear cold air intake, ebay header, integra ls throttle body and thats hit and i was hitting 6.4-6.7 depending, but once i got a dyno tune i was cracking like 6.0-6.1sec 0-60
WOAHHH I call BS on that one. One of my good friends has a 94 EX coupe with that engine with plenty of mods and he makes about a 7.0 0-60. Theres no way you got down to a flat 6 with those mods, dont kid yourself.
His is 5-speed, hes 23, he has an Edelbrock intake manifold, DC header, an integra CAI, as well as a short throw shifter, so get that stereotypical bullshit out of here, Im tired of hearing that shit.
@TheLBCSublime When you say about, I hear that so much and then when an actual timer gets used, people get upset. You know how many people tell me that they just shaved a whole second off by adding a cat back or a CAI? Post a video of the 94 EX with mods as I would love to see it equal a Prelude.
@2muchreality4u The best is when I hear they tuned an NA 4 banger to gain a whole second. You only gain 10hp from a tune on a 2.2 DOHC, do you think a 1.7 SOHC is going to gain more? It takes 40hp on a Cavalier to shave off one second. Most companies lie big time about bolt on gains. Realistic gains--- CAI 5hp, header 8hp, 2.25" catback 5hp, 2.25" downpipe 2-3hp, high flow cat 1hp. These numbers do not stack either. They may boost an area the car lacked before, but you can't just add them.
@TheLBCSublime Sorry to hear that. I don't dislike Hondas, some are really nice. I rented a 2008 V-6 Accord a while back, and it hauled. I did test drive the newer Civic with 140hp, and it had some odd pedal response. Not fast, but definitely a good commuter. Also, I can see potential there. I had to sell my GM SC kit about a year ago for my Eco 2.2. Bills came in, and the install would have been around $750 and the re-flash was surprisingly cheap at $110 at the dealer. Oh well, thanks economy.
@TheLBCSublime Not true, since you have high miles, it is the perfect time for a performance rebuild. I would wait until the motor needs rebuilt and then add the SC kit on.
@0to60in16seconds BITCH FUCK A GAY ASS honda a honda 4 bitchez if u dont like Chevy Y u lookin at Chevys bitch i aint lookin at hondas cuz i hate dem fagget ass carz niggaz alwayz ridin a import dick get the fuck outta here u queer
@CamaroTransAmTeam Amen man take them bitchass hondas back to japan! seriously what brand of cams? Comp? Crane?Lunanti? Isky? Edelbrock? Im in the process of rebuilding a 99 Cavalier the engine was blown to smitherines and decided with the new block just to add cams and stroke it.
get larger fuel injectors. will make a HUGE difference. day and night. Even with tune stockers just cant do the job when putting massive cams in engines
how the hell does it go to 140 MPH no cavy did only 110MPH

Dude, 4-2-1 headers are so much better!
4-1 only help you in the Rpm band, which, lets face it, its a cavalier, so it doesn't rev high enough to count!
