  • Ive been discriminated from being hired because of my age, and my learning disability.

I still hate arrogant smart alec people because they are always rude, and snobby to me. I always get discriminated easily from those type of people.

  • It is most often against young people in my experience.

  • Yeah I'm getting the full blow every day from ageism against younger people.

  • yeah whenever someone on the internet is 10 years old the older people will think that child is immature and stupid even though the 10 year old is acting intelligent and kind.

  • ageism can be against young people to

  • A lot of people are assholes. Age has nothing to do with intelligence, once your brain is fully developed, you can do whatever you want with it. I am not going to consider myself less intelligent, cus I am 18. You can act stupid, or you can act smart, why should age matter? It should not!

  • Don't judge all 'older people' by your parents. How would you feel if someone judged YOU by someone you'd never met and had absolutely nothing in common with. Most people under 25 tend to assume that people over 35 are like their parents. Why?

  • Who invented computers, networks, the internet and software? Sure there are people who have no clue. Just because a person is 18 years old and knows how to make a simple Video or does IM or can play video games (all stuff invented by people now over 50)is not proof they are tech wiz kids. I was trained in Mainframes SuperCrayComputers and PC's and programing in the 70's. My daughter calls her "old man" to fix her PC problems or set up her home network or build her new computer.

  • Nice how you replied to a porn spammer. lol I'm just saying that as a side note.

Just because the inventors of our modern technology are over the age of 50 does not mean that their intended market was peple within their age bracket. I, myself, have never met anyone over the age of 50 with enough patience to deal with technlogy (or anyone with enough patience to teach them). There's no need to spiff about it. Get over it and stop being a fag bag pansy!

    *Meant for everyone.

  • Yeah, I agree with Classic14Rider. Computers and Internet are not foreign to those over 30 and stereotyping never adequately explains people. Posting videos on youtube is not technology. Blogging is not technology. It nay use a technological medium but requires no skill, really - just knowledge. Anyone hear of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or Steve Wozniak? Or how about John Mauchly and J Presper Eckert?

  • People over 30 aren't familiar with technology? Maybe you should examine that notion a little more. I think older people are posting videos, but they aren't vlogging so much as posting clips from the news or other sources. They stimulate conversation that way. I don't think they put themselves out there so much as they put video clips that interest them out there. It is a way of "editing" mass media. Just a thought.

  • seriously great job I agree with you 100% and you put it forward very well

  • Yes many are immature, and i cant stand it. However i have a whole slection now of people thqat are actually smart and talk intellgiently. I hope you do well in the future.

  • Cont'd. Via YouTube, I am meeting people from all over the world. It's great. The benefits of the internet are so great & so interesting & rewarding, that slagging off silversurfers isn't a big deal. Anyhow, there are lots of young, mature people like sigafoo who have taught me a lot, and a lot of old farts who are way too set in their ways to listen really bore me to tears. Nuff said I think.

  • Hi.I'm 65 & I don't agree with violetkitty. I don't get upset by the perceived ageism. I do get upset by ignorance, but that's it. I just move on & enjoy my life. My introduction to computers was in 1979 & I became addicted. Trying to work how to create a website has got me beat, but I have an MP3 player, get Spanish lessons via internet from Guatemala & guitar lessons from the States. This stuff is magic.

  • I'm 37 and I still have all my teeth and everything! :) Gee, I even own 3 ipods! The great thing about getting "middle aged" is that you have more disposable income to buy toys and gadgets! such as computers, etc. :) Also, being Gay helps. We're just more cool than the average middle aged person! :)

  • Dude, nice job getting that out there! Any way, I've been waching your videos and you state some fairly good points, I like that. I mean I may only be 14 but I like the stuff that you adress (no I'm not really the age on my acount) I really like you work on Free will =) I'm probably going to subscribe to your stuff

  • I'm 54 and I love you-tube----watch out--the word is spreading in my age group!

  • Hey there, sigafoo. Your opinion matters very much. Thank you for sharing your point of view. :-)

You're a very well spoken young man, and I'm sure you are destined for success. :-)
