Just think if MJ wouldn't have stepped down, still in his prime, and had infact played the 1993-1994 season..with the addition of superb rookie Toni Kukoc, and key additions Steve Kerr, Bill Wennington, and Luc Longley, a very solid power forward in Scott Williams, to go with an MVP caliber player of Pippen, All-Stars in Horace Grant and B.J. Armstrong, and savvy vets in Cartwright and Paxson..that's a team that would have been odds on favorties to win the '94 world championship.
Of course if MJ would stayed with Chicago the title in 1994 would be in their hands again. We saw that even without him they were close to beat again the Knicks and with Jordan this would happened. Of course in that situation the Bulls would met with the mighty Rockets in these days but the Bulls would be again number one and made four in a row.
Looking back at his career, I wonder if Michael regret (even just a little) leaving the game after this season even though they were such a huge favor to 4 peat. I wonder if he regret not winning 8 straight titles.
2:50-3:45 When we retire, we can look back in 10 years and see how special this is. Great feeling, can't even describe it. Jordan - harder than anything else, may not know what it means now, but later on with my kids, it will bring a proud smile to anyone's face.
1:30-2:15 Like an elixir, it's so hard to do, we did it, we did it..., we deserve praise. Bunch of guys with one goal, play as a unit - goal is to win championships.
@TheEntertainmentonly you're right, you can hear Westphal in the timeout saying "No penetration, No penetration" and what did they let the Bulls do: penetrate the lane and kick it back out to Johnny Pax for the winner.
agree w/ vip, b-ball not even tha same. back then every team was tough as hell, not this pre-determined lakers vs celtics shit, which makes me think tha nba is trying to get it back to this, which was when they didnt have all these BS rules that they have now, making me believe this was truely tha last dynasty tha nba will ever see...not to mention 2 1/2 years later, which included an awesome 1996 class, but none of them, or their teams, can match THIS, GO BULLS & HEELS
This brings back some good memories, being from Chicago and being able to see this I your own city was awesome, Jordan was and is the best player but the other 4, Pippen, Paxson, Cartwright, and Grant were instrumental. I can't even watch the NBA now, not really interesting as the mid 90's were.
This was actually a pretty good series. The Suns did not quit they made it look interesting but at the end of the day the Bulls had the best player in basketball in michael jordan who refused to let his team lose the championship.
I'd take any of the championship Bulls teams and put them up against any team in history, give them 10 pts and the ball and i'll still feel confident that the Bulls would still win.
There are only 12 players allowed on a playoff roster, if you have more players then that, then they are not allowed to suit up.. you are only allowed to have 12 players in uniform ready to play..
@nickdekthai yeah bro.. your brother in law is stupid. bulls have won 2 three-peat! that will not be replicated by those teams. i bet my balls on that!..lol
@nickdekthai They are that's why they have 33 combined titles I am sorry to burst your bubble but the Lakers and Celtics will always be the greatest franchises in NBA history coming from a Jordan fan
No, they are not. The number of titles don't mean Lakers and Celtics are the greatest. The important thing for the greatnees of a team is the class and the style, and the Lakers and Celtics would never have Chicago's great style of playing and of course they would never have such player as Jordan.
I'm a diehard Lakers fan, as my name suggests, but the Bulls are my second fave without a doubt..those first three-peat Bulls world championship teams were something else..these memories, along with this great song, make me wanna cry...great times..but hey, be glad you weren't alive during these times..you'd be that much older now..like those of us who were alive and old enough to remember it lol
that's right, its been a while... don't know if they could win 8 straight but its possible with that team. Didn't Boston win 8 straight championships- I'm not sure...
I did'nt really start getting in2 the NBA until Mike got drafted, I used 2 watch Magic & Bird play every now & then, @ the time I was more in2 wrestling & the NFL, but once I went 2 my 1st Bulls game with my dad, I was hooked.
I was 17 when we won the 1st ring, & that year, B4 the playoffs began, I knew it was our time, plus I got sick of Detroit beating up on us in the 'offs, so sweeping them, then beating the Lakers in the Finals was sweet.
interesting. they probly were gimmes, cuz the bulls wouldve made the finals, but i hear they werent too good against houston in the reg season, but they did it 6 times, so they probly couldve taken over hou in the finals. yep. by the way, from seeing ur comment about celebrating paxsons 3, r u an adult that was a fan way back wen this stuff was actually happening? cuz thats cool. so wuts your fan history? such as when u started, who u liked 1st, who u liked after the bulls era, etc
yeah the Rocket would always get the best of us in the regular season during the Jordan/Pippen/Phil Era, & I honestly feel that they would've taken us 2 the limit in the Finals.
I personally wouldn't say they were "gimmes",but the Western Conference even in the 90's had a lot of competition, even if they weren't all championship material. We'll never know what might have been had Michael Jordan not retired between 1993-1995.
Mike was actually suspended over that gambling situation he was caught up in, so he staged a bogus press conference announcing his retirement, but I can't front though, I cried when he retired
Shove it..the Celtics did it in the 1960s..where they could have the same great players, year after year after year..no free agency..THERE WERE ONLY 8 franchises in the league FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!!
