When you have a TERMINAL spin best thing to do is both feet in. Locked wheels can do nothing, and the car will go ballistic and slide on a straight path. Instead, the rear wheels were able to grip , and this grip continued to push the car, which since it is now pointed at the curb, pushed the car into the curb. Take away all grip, you prevent it.
