I dont understand why they need a big tank! Todontodactylus Scyllarus (aka, Mantis Shrimp) burrow under/through Rock to make a home for themselves where they hang out. They only leave to feed/hunt so if he tosses in a Damsel once in a while for food he's set. What does a larger tank acomplish if your filtration is good and your doing your 20% weekly water changes?

..hey in responce to Joe.. Peacock mantis shrimps get up to 6-7 in. long.. while I agree alot of species sit under a rock all the time.. but Peacocks need room to roam, which is why they need atleast a 20L.

If the Mantis felt confined it would try and smash its way through the side or bottom of tank. Since he is obviously well fed (Damsel TarTar), there is no reason for him to look for bigger pastures/tanks else ware.

hey asshole! They fit into the Crustacea phylum in the class Malacostraca, subclass Hoplocarida (which means "ARMED SHRIMP") and order Stomatopoda. They are reffered to as shrimp because of their front appendages and how they use them. GET SOME TACT!
