Also, don't look on Craigslist, bc Providence RI and Hartford CT shelters stick ads up on it of animlas who have literally days before being euthanized, and it only costs an MA resident about $5 to adopt from their city shelters. SO many pitbulls, poor babies. I love pitties so I had to stop looking bc it upset me. Argh that video was Eden's forbidden tree, shame on you! But again, nice restraint-a kitten beats a ring btw, tell Andrew. Well, 2 kittens, always adopt in pairs :-)

Did you go into the pens with the puppies and play with them? They thoroughly encouraged it when I went. Those places are bloody dangerous, you go just to 'look' and boom, suddenly you're sucked in and bringing the gorgeous puppyface or kittenfaces home with you! Petfinder is bad enough, that's how American Lab Rescue got me (I love chocolate labs!) BTW, don't go deep south, it'll break your heart. I went to Augusta GA and saw SO many stray cats that had been dumped by their $-poor owners.

I love this so much but at the same time it makes me miserable bc if I had the room and the funds I would take them ALL..I have Alot of cats as is, and I've had cats since I was 5 yrs old and I'm going on 27. I just love animals so much. This is awesome what you are doing, Brooke. I've been a long time sub of yours and you still continue to be one of my favorites.

Aw this is a great video! I see a lot of people talking about how expensive $395 is to adopt but they already have their shots, operations, and they get a collar, and food. So it's not bad when you have all that already done!

@DallyDanielle yeah and when you bought your purebred Aussie, was it spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, come with flea prevention, a collar, leash and a bag of food?? that stuff isn't free ya know and they need some funds to continue what they do.

@BornThisWayBeauty I could've neuter him for $50 more. But I choose not to because I don't like doing that to my animals. I'm a responsible owner, I don't let my animals go out and breed with other animals like they would if they weren't watched, they live inside. But yes, he was fully vaccinated for his age, came with heart-worm, and flea preventive. As well as a collar and leash and a 5lbs bag of food. I know all that stuff isn't free, but that doesn't mean they couldn't lower the price a bit.

@DallyDanielle 400$ is not that much. Seriously... Listen to EVERYTHING that comes with those puppies, add it all up individually, and it would cost you more to spend 200$ on a back yard bred dog & pay for everything these puppies come with.

Wow, this looks like a REALLY nice shelter, and the owner seems like a very nice lady. I didn't get to donate, but I'm glad you chose this place and I'm glad they exist and are doing what they do. All those animals are in one of the best possible places until they can find loving homes. <3

I do not understand the discrimination between the canine ones whose cage has gone out for the exterior court in order that they could play and run and because the precious felines estan limited in cages without space where they cannot move, nor walk, nor to play and several cats in the same cage, it is cruel, to have them enclosed in cages 24 hours a day.: (((((

@Mouishe4ever They said the cats come out to play when the volunteers take them out. It's a space issue, cats are smaller and need less room, dogs are bigger and need more exercise. Naturally, cats sleep a lot of the time and there is so reason to have so much room to sleep.

@renshow91 Well people could always adopt from the State run kill shelters (which I always advocate) Anyway, the shelters NEED those adoption fees- they run on fundraisers and adoption fees. If donations are slow one month they always have the adoption fees to keep them going. Also, raising a puppy is not cheap- with my three cats I have already spent hundreds in vet bills this year. Not everyone should adopt animals- if you cannot afford proper care for the animal you shouldn't adopt.

@sayanythingbr00ke Wow that's gone up. Last time (actually only time but who's counting?!) I visited, I went with my bff and we fell in love w/ a dog rescued from Puerto Rico named Jacobo. They told us the dog adoption fee was $250. Please tell me they've installed video surveillance cameras since the winter, when someone broke in and stole 6 very young puppies (bloody miracle that they found and got them all back!). Animal shelters and petfinder is very dangerous! I applaud your restraint.
