  • that's a great video :) thx :) i really enjoyed it!

  • 2:12 grinsekatze

  • Got back from Spain a week ago, wanted to compliment you again on capturing the spirit of Madrid, and its fun side. (Though where was the ham? :-) ) When I saw the white streamers in Plaza Mayor, I told my friends my trip was complete, because now I saw something that matched what I had seen on YouTube. :-)

  • Cool, those streamers are still there?

Well, I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. ^^

  • cooles video danke fuers posten

  • Very cool! You got some great shots in this. I'm a little disappointed there's no footage of you castanet dancing though as I'm sure you did.

  • I'm sorry, man. But that footage is classified.

  • sehr schon , muy bonito.

  • Those DRUMMERS are AWESOME!!

  • 2:13 *grins*

    eine neue Bekanntschaft?^^

  • Hahaha. YouTube Partner sind halt sexy! (c;

  • Great tour. I was there in 89' and the buildings seemed grey - the restaurant actually looked familiar. Maybe I went there. We ate squid, and some other things. It tore up my stomach. (For days and days) was only one day and night there. Had a mixed feeling about being there.

    Bis Spater!

  • Well, I'm not much of a seafood fan... so I didn't have anything of the sort.

Madrid seemed a lot of things to me, but grey wasn't one of them. Maybe it changed a lot in the past 20 years?

  • I believe they actually did wash/clean many of the buildings after I was there.

My uncle is still in Wiesbaden, and I sure hope in the next 12 or so months to go see him! Will keep ranting until then - sparkles has more work to do!

  • I want to go! :)

  • you should maybe take a trip to Canada *nudge nudge wink wink*

    Great video

  • Well, Canada's been on my to do list for the longest time. But if I ever went there, where would I stay? *nudge nudge wink wink*

  • Very nice! Madrid looks great.

  • Looks like you had a fantastic time!

  • Well thank you for the invitation.... I like the town crier. nice to know that there are still places where a man can speak his mind. The city looks beautiful and you looked like you were prepared for the heat.. : )

  • Liked my fan, did you? *g*

  • Great music! Glad my ex gf ain't here with me, she would want to samba or salsa right away for sure! (And I'm sooo lazy, esp with the heat today - 32°C. I bet u got more over there, though... *g*)

Oh and the 2:13 girl is indeed cute! :) (Flirt idea: "Hey, now you've spoiled my film!" - "WHAT?" - "Yes, I wanted to show how boring Spanish people are... or aren't you?" - "I well am!" and from there you could be going... *smile*)

  • Hahaha, a new move, eh? That's going right in the arsenal!

  • Quick question: What was the street march/demonstration for?

Random girl at 2:13 who smiled for the camera, LOL!

  • I wish I knew what the demonstration was for. Inconveniently, all the signs were in Spanish, which I hardly know a word of.

  • I was just going to comment that I DID like the music.. =\

    Can't please everyone, I guess.

  • You never can. But I'm glad *you* liked it. ^^

  • great video!

  • Beautiful images but I'm sorry to say the music sucked imho ^^

  • What would you have used? (No breaking copyright laws, though.)

  • Yes I know. The copyright free stuff isn't always much to write home about. But hey, the video was cool! Music can be turned off ^^

  • Yes I have to agree - great video but the music was a tad franetic and I turned it off too. Btw...u have prob shown us b4 but what camera do you use? I ask because it's really decent pic quality.

  • Really?

Well, I use merely used my trusty digital camera, a Samsung NV8. Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camcorder yet, but I hope to change that in the future. A digicam is much smaller and easier to carry around, though.

  • cool.

  • Good timing. I'm going to Madrid next month. You have an eye for always making a city look interesting and fun.

  • You're right. But it just happens that I see something fun and interesting in every city I visit.

  • ganz schön windig da!

  • Frag nicht nach Sonnenschein.

  • schöne Bilder, macht echt paß das ganze anzuschaun :-)

  • Nice one! Reminded me of my visit to Madrid last year.. u went to alot of the same places we visited too. :) So I take it u liked Madrid? I think both Madrid and Barcelona are beautiful cities. :)

  • Well, Madrid is a nice enough city. Very crowded, full of life. The weather was a little unexpected. This weekend's been full of rain. (Gaeri will probably complain to you about that.)

I haven't seen Barcelona yet. Which one did you prefer?

  • ¡Hola!

  • ¡Buen día! ¿Cómo estás?

  • Muy Bien, Gracias!

  • Great tour of Madrid, loved the way you worked in the people etc along with all the fantastic architecture! "Dancing to the drums"-- that looked fun!! Really enjoyed this, thanks for taking us along! (c:

  • As long as they don't mind, I kinda like to film random crowds and people because they represent a city just as much as its architecture does. For myself.

However, I have to be careful what I publish, there are rules about that.

I'm glad you liked it. (c:

  • the music papapapapa... pa pa pa pa pa. papapaparapa, papa ra papa papa ra papa ... is spoken in spanish?

  • Well, at least it sounded hispanic to me...

  • nice

  • Soo beautiful! I wanna go to spain, too! :(

  • For an architect especially, I think Madrid and Barcelona must be a dream.

  • I enjoyed this tour of Madrid! It was really really well shot and edited.

The ending was wonderful - people sitting relaxing by the river and then a handsome guy in black on a cool air vent/grate which could be interpreted as a live interactive moving modern minimalist temporary art installation!!

Um... I was going for a lot of adjectives! I suppose a simpler interpretation would be, "TP Grate!" Looks like fun!

Life is good in Madrid! :D

  • In fact, the air vent thing actually was an live interactive moving modern minimalist temporary art installation. I spoke briefly to the artist who kept working on it while we were walking around it.

I threw this video together quick and dirty from random footage I took this weekend. It could have been better, but I'm glad you liked the result. ^^

  • oooooh! the toiletpaper grid thingy!

    It's all so pwetty! ^_^

..and you got a spanish fan! :O

  • The toilet paper thingy was spontaneously made by this Spanish artist who then invited people to walk through it. I totally love that kind of stuff.

Haha, I only saw that grinning girl when I reviewed the footage of the market later.

  • I think my brother wants to go there (along with Italy as well), he's studying architecture and art so that's why.

I'm not sure if I would go with him though, I'd feel more comfortable if I knew Spanish. (Because I still don't like visiting a country if I don't know at least a little of the language)

Oh well, looks like it was lots of fun though!

  • I can't really be the judge of living here, I suppose. I don't speak any Spanish, but if I really wanted to move somewhere, I'd learn the language. Not vice versa. LoL

  • the music goes nicely with the video

  • Gracias! I didn't have a lot of time to search ccmixter from Madrid. I guess I got lucky. (=
