wait 3 hours of battery life wtf? What is your battery for the laptop? Also, I'm trying to decide between a Thinkpad e420s and this, the thinkpad t420. how much battery life would a 6 cell litthium 55+ get me? and if i upgraded to the 9 cell?

appreciate your succinct review.what is more important for you-the processor or the memory on this thinkpad?what made you NOT choose the x220-as i'm stuck between the two...the x220 has gotten really, really great reviews all over the place and I can't really find any for the t420.

@babysumo57 Thanks! The processor usually, because these days we don't really need more than 4 GB of RAM to run most programs, unless you're a photo or video editor or something like that and you need a lot of space to work with when rendering objects. But I find your question really intersting because I actually considered the X220. And it was a pretty big consideration, since my top two choices were either this or the T420. The X220 indeed gets a lot of good all around reviews.......

But the dealbreaker came in the form of the screen size. 12.5' was not gonna cut it. I had a friend that had bought the x220 and after using it for just 15-20 minutes, my head started to hurt because of the straining I had to do. Maybe thats just me though, but thats what made me choose the T420's 14 inch screen over the X220's 12.5 inch screen.

@mistretta25 You either are extremely lucky, or have a 9 cell battery. I have a 6 cell. Usually laptops manufacturers will advertise extended hours to entice the consumer. But when it comes to real world usage, the battery life will differ drastically than the advertised time. For example, my laptop was rated at 4 Hours with a 6 Cell Battery. I only get 2 and a half or 3.

May i ask you i you can film what happens when you put some light (i mean not mashing) pressure on the lid when teh laptop is closed? and also can you show me the scrolling using the track point (like in an heavy pdf, or webpage) ?
