i have a cx2618 it is very similar to this laptop and i was wondering if u can help me on a problem iam having right now. The pen in my pad stoped working..i dont now if its the pen or the screen or if i disabled the touch screen somehow but iam not sure...anybody have any ideas of wat could be wrong with it and how i may fix it..thanks

Between Gateway and Toshiba, Gateway tablets like this one has the best features from the design of it, esp. the 14.1" lcd which makes it 5 stars (in my opinion).

i just got a hp tc1100...witch is a 2004 hybrid tablet pc.....for about 300$, amazing since it's as powerful as a netbook, but with the added tablet feature.

I found the hinge to be too weak, but all in all, i think this Tablet Pc is a good laptop.

can you play a game on it to see how it works? oh, and where did you buy this one? it seems any other place this ones are not configurable. is what you see is what you get kind of deal. i would love to put a stronger graphics cards. also, i have been reading bad stuff about gateway's costumer service. i want to get this or the p series one. help me please. ps. is it pressure sensitive? i do photoshop a lot.

@Phantom11530 first of all laptops and such dont have video cards they won't fit, the just have the gpu not the video card. second of all in some you can.

thanks for the great review. i will probably buy this. only thing im wondering is if the ati radeon 2300 card is good enough to run not very demanding games like halo 2. please let me know the total video memory of your card because im not sure if this card uses shared memory.

I'm looking at getting the c-141x, and the 300 extra for the xl is very questioning. I do photoshoping on occasion (elements) listen to music, web browse and do word documents, etc...normal stuff. I'm interested in the tablet because i can use it in college. You had both, do you do photoshoping, and does the video card upgrade in the XL help to such a degree? Also, on their site they dont mention that onenote is for free...did it just come on? or was it listed at the time you got yours. Thanx!

Humm did i lose my chance of getting a better deal with the C-140 XL..the C-141X is no as impressive in fact its not really all better at all...? but now i can even find the C-140 XL...dont get me wrong..after viewing your videos..i love the tablet pc..just that the wait for the c141X isnt wut i expected..what your advice..thanks

I agree the C-141X is not really anything different. However, the C-141XL is supposed to be a much better upgrade.

sometime in feb is when an updated c140xl is coming out, but currently gateway is sold out on the c140cl shown in this review. btw thanks christian15213 for the review it was most helpful in making my decision!

i checked on the c-141X and it only came with intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Mobile Processor T2330...not a intel pentium 2 dual-core mobile T7500...whats is the difference isnt the c-141X suppose to be better then the c-140XL becuase its new...

i bought a c 140 xl through gateway and it came with a 1.66Ghz core 2 duo. Would it be possible to upgrade to a faster processor?

Yes, when the penryn processors are (or perhaps have already) coming out within a few weeks. Actually I think the release date was Jan 06. Penryn processors are Socket P, so you'll be able to upgrade with them. They run cooler and faster, with the base Penryn processors running at 2.1 Ghz (for about $210). Hope that helps.

That sure helps me. I wouldn't suggest upgrading to the T7500 processor as it is a heat engine.

That little Intel Centrino Sticker bugged me. It says "Peel Here"... so I did. IT DID NOT COME OFF! Ahhhh now I had a sticky Intel Centrino sticker still remaining on my tablet. Thankfully with a little more picking I was able to fully remove the rest of the sticker.

I still wonder why they put what appears to be a pull off cover over it, that even looks like it should be removed with instructions to do so.

Oh well enough ranting :) I love my CX-140XL Best tablet in the world :D
