If you decide to play a hand like 4-6 suited from the small blind that's fine with me. I just wonder why someone would check - fold it on this flop. People play 4-6 to draw, not to flop fours and sixes. I really wonder what the plan was in the first place
I think he's afraid of Phil having a flushdraw wich means he has 6 outs instead of 8 for a str8. He also is afraid of a pair in wich case Phil could make a full house. He is also afraid Phil is gonna bet if a spade would come even if he didnt have a flush. I didnt really see his stack but he could be low and doesnt wanna gamble with so little outs. He could also just be afraid of Phil.
Very true, what more can you ask for. He could at least have called the 7k into a 10k pot. I was just guessing at the reasons to fold here, but really there are none. If I remember he made another stupid laydown somewhere when I think he had KK.
@4:00 I guess the best line to take from the small blind at this point is to check call the 7k bet on the flop and check raise most turn cards. Because not too many players would raise the flop vs a guy like Ivey if they had trips.
Line nr 1 (almost always): Check call flop - check raise turn/ big bet river
Line nr 2: check raise flop to 20k so Ivey can only shove or fold. Guess I'd check raise flop to 20k only if I had less than 60k behind
@foreverguga option 2: Ivey will not fold a flushdraw or a pair bigger than 7 (and oc 77 or 5) and I doubt he'd fold a 7. And he could make a sick call or raise (turn) if he thought wolf was on a draw. I'd say carefull is the way to go and see if you have odds to call a bet on the turn. My guess is Ivey will check behind the turn and maybe bet/check river if he think wolf missed. Check-raise turn not a good plan, you could be behind in so many ways, just see if you can hit.
that was a pretty lame fold with the straight draw but i think its because he's scared shitless of ivey

@foreverguga
