  • Great review dude. Wonder when they go to the prison?

  • The Zombie Wrangling scene was hilarious to me!

It's like a cable access show gone horribly wrong!

    LOL XD

  • sorry! but I have to add...people being upset by sophie getting bit is like white folks getting upset by a lil girl getting shot in a drive by be it in the getto or subs. it's reality! shit happens. N their reality, wlkrz happens. to me, wlkrz r like living in a world full of wolves or large cats. you just have to avoid them. it's no diffrent than the hunting and gathering days. the point is survive! u jes have 2 survive n find a place of relevent security. H's land wzn't theirs. Find another!

  • no affence. i'm just guessing it'll take alot more 2 bather you. as for the gophie, she got what she deserved. idk how long rick was gone but she should have waited.

rick took a gamble and lost but at least they knew for sure. it would suck to come back around that way and find her alive, well, older, and really resentful. but just the not knowing would really suck.

Again: the world has changed but in these dark times is when you have to hold on tighter 2ur morals.

  • Really!?! I just can't agree with you. humanity is all you have left. That is what separates you from being a zombie and human. because shane is basically a monster himself. the boy is just an excuse so he would feel better about saving his ass. at least you admit it! Fuck black and white? look at shane and look at rick. I'm pretty sure rick sleeps alot better at nite. he's a lot more balanced than shane in the day too. unlike you, at least shane has a conscience.

  • Lets get that smoke alarm battery changed. Chirp.

  • @stickydog480 I thought it was mine.

    LOL XD

  • Great review, uberhikari. I also suggest listening to "We're Alive - The Zombie Story of Survival". We're Alive is a great zombie radio drama. It should take care of any "zombie fix". Just google "We're Alive - The Zombie Story of Survival" and click the 1st link and enjoy.

  • very interesting last episode, one thing that you didnt mention was the whole zombie catching thing that the farm owner does leads us to believe that he has caught all the zombies in the barn, and seems to have identified some if not all of them, then surely he knew that it was indeed Sophia that was in the barn, and if not knew had suspected it. He didnt tell the group EVEN after they found out about the barn....any views on that?

  • @jasperevans2794 I thought about this but decided not to focus on it for 2 reasons. The first reason was practical: the review is 35 mins long, lol. Second, as I remember, Hershel claimed that Otis was the one who captured the zombies. So, there was no way for Hershel to have known who was in the barn; additionally there are Walkers all over the place so there was no way for him to suspect that Sophia might've been in the barn.

  • In a nutshell shane went from being a top asset with his surviver skills that came from being a police officer to being the weakest link because he has proven to panic, be selfish, back stabbing, and just over all untrustable and unbalanced.

  • I disagree because just because there is an outbreak of some kind that throws society in a panic doesn't mean that ethics are void or that morality is then subjective. I also disagree with your analysis of rick being "foolish" or naive because of his strategy because he figured it is more dangerous being out on the road in risk of a lack of ammo, food, gas, and proper shelter to find a base that might very well be over run itself, especially with a hurt child, than to negotiate with herschal....

  • ........to eventually get rid of the walkers in the barn by talking sense into him a little at the time and in meantime keep an eye on the barn and hope they don't escape or secure it better so they won't be kicked out into the cold. Unless you lay down ethics and take over the guys farm by force, which would be technically wrong, especially after he let them stay and saved the kid. I also disagree with you about dale, he is the level headed one but just a little over protective.........

  • .........is all, and is just too scared imo to start telling everyone about everyones secrets because it would cause more harm than good so he keeps tight lipped, crossed fingers, and hopes for the best. Only when he feels he has no choice to protect andrea does he open up a bit about shane, which IS the truth. And speaking of "suspect" characters, shane is beyond suspect because his jealousy gave him murdering fantasies about rick, his "best friend" of all things..........

  • .........Tried to rape lori which is just wrong, drunk or not as you've admitted, because yes, morality IS still objective. tried to come between rick and his family by running his mouth in a smug fashion about the baby which is inappropriate, especially at that time, AND killed that other guy.........

  • ........Shane is a phonie who's "ethics" and ideals change with circumstances which says he never had what it took deep down to wear that badge and enforce laws that were supposed to be based on objective logic and ethics. If society is ever going to get back on its feet it will need to be founded with the heart and sensibilities of people like rick and dale, especially rick who imo has a good balance of sensibilities and survivor skills. Shane is a paniking knee jerking selfish dick imo

  • Love you man and love your reviews all the way from KUWAIT

  • @far0ashgar From Kuwait?! Wow! Thanks for the comment, you don't know how much this means to me.

  • @Temperedspirit You're reasoning doesn't make sense given the context of the situation. It was clearly implied that they were not going to be able to escape. Otis is fat, Shane is injured, they have no more ammunition, they're being chased by zombies and there is NO destination in sight. If it was possible for both of them to escape then the writers did a hack job, because why would Shane kill Otis unless he felt like he had to? Why, because he's a crazy masochist?

  • @uberhikari I meant sadist not masochist.

  • @Temperedspirit So, Shane should have allowed himself and Carl to be killed along with Otis? Shane has what is commonly referred to in moral theory as a necessity justification. There are some situations where acting for the greater good is the best possible moral decision, and sometimes it may even be obligatory. For instance, a man with a nuke says shoot Bobby or we'll blow up New York. Then you are morally OBLIGATED to shoot Bobby.

  • @Temperedspirit Did she seem whimsical, capricious, unstable or unreasonable to you? She sure didn't seem that way to me. Moreover, what Dale did was disanalogous to handing a suicidal person a gun. He told her that if she killed herself, then he would kill himself. That's holding someone hostage. He was actually going to force his death on her conscience, and that's completely unethical. It's disgustingly manipulative: do what I want you to do or I'll kill myself.

  • @Temperedspirit Lastly, from a moral point of view Shane's decision to shoot Otis was morally justified. They were both about to die, and if they would have died then Carl would have died. But if Shane shoots Otis, then only Otis dies i.e. Shane lives and is able to also save Carl's life. The fact is that Shane saved 2 lives by killing Otis. And shutting down your emotions in a zombie apocalypse doesn't make you unstable, BEING in a zombie apocalypse makes you unstable.

  • @Temperedspirit Second, your type of thinking is the basis of all dictatorships, the assumption that people have a right to tell someone how to live or end their own life. I would argue that staying alive is not in anyone's best interest given the situation. No one has a right to manipulate how you decide to live your own life. We are all endowed with reason and rationality and other people are obligated to respect the decisions we make about our own life or how we end it.

  • @Temperedspirit Safe is a relative term in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Just because the characters say it is safe, and there haven't been any zombie attacks YET, doesn't make it safe. Moreover, if the barn is "secure" does not mean that keeping zombies right where you live is a prudent decision. If you were in that situation, the survivor of multiple zombie attacks, would you live right next to a barn full of them? Of course you wouldn't.

  • @Temperedspirit Go back and watch my other reviews, which will provide you with even more context for my arguments. I've been building up these arguments about Shane throughout the course of this season. Shane's actions, especially his shooting Otis, is at least morally defensible, and possibly morally obligatory.

  • @Temperedspirit People like you are starting to irritate me because you only hear what you want to hear and you keep disregarding the key points that I make. Dale has already shown that he is a suspect character because of his manipulation of Andrea and by not telling Rick that he saw Shane pointing a gun at him.

Finally, I never claimed that Shane was not a suspect character, I NEVER said that. I only claimed that Dale is also a suspect character and potentially more dangerous.

  • @Temperedspirit Also, Shane stayed behind and actively looked for Sophia, again he could have called everyone stupid and refused to even look for her, but he didn't.

And Dale took the guns for a reason? Yeah, it makes a lot of sense, let me steal the guns from the group without consulting anyone, while walkers are in the barn right next to our camp, and we're fighting for our lives in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. And let's not forget about how Dale has manipulated Andrea.

  • @Temperedspirit Just like most people, you've pigeon-holed Shane's character. Do you remember the mirror scene with Shane at the end of Save the Last One? How do you explain that scene, if Shane is a masochist who has no guilt? What you're saying simply doesn't make sense given all the facts. Shane risked his life to save Carl when he didn't have to, he went out of his way to go with Otis. If Shane was such a cold hearted bastard he would not have done that.

  • I hate Dale, he always acting like he's someone's father or taking away people's guns, smh.

  • how about we read The Walking Dead? its a comic for those of you who dotn know

  • Episode 7 was the best of all... i was really shocked when sophia came out of the barn i thought otis would walk out the barn or something

  • @kingodin79 I really don't understand why people insist on being so childish. You can disagree with me, but to be incapable of forming one's opinions without resort to ad hominem attacks is truly pathetic. Your comment will be removed and you will be blocked. Goodbye.

  • Shane is a lunatic. He tried to rape Lori, murdered Otis, thought about murdering Rick, opened the barn wrecklessly, and didn't even think about looking for Sophia. If you sympathize with him more than with Rick or with Dale, you've got issues.

  • great review man! i couldn't say better than that

  • Dale got the guns only because he wanted to avoid what happen at the end of the episode...now they'll have to leave the farm.

  • good review!

  • it sounds like hes reading the review...

  • hi..it's called a snare...first time i'm seeing one of your reviews and i'm extremely impressed! your observations are brilliant and well stated. work on the 'umms' and the 'you knows' and this commentary/review will grow incredibly fast. i see ads in your future very soon...your idea/plan for discussion videos is also excellent...EXCELLENT REVIEWING...WTG!!!

  • Awesome review as always. I'm usually a anti-Shane person. I don't care for Lori's calculated, cold and manipulative persona either. But in this episode I was 100% behind Shane and his actions. It was just ridiculous to be on a farm with walkers in the barn and surrounding areas without guns. BTW, why didn't that old bastard Hershel mention he had a little girl walker in the barn. All this time he let them search knowing he had a little girl in the barn? He's such a shady and manipulative guy.

  • @DimpledCutie20 I don't think Hershel knew there was a little girl in the barn. The capturing Walkers and putting them in the barn was Otis' job before he was killed, and before it was ever announced they had lost a little girl Shane killed Otis so he couldn't say anything. That's my $0.02 anyway.

  • Comment removed

  • This episode was amazing from start to finish.

  • i really enjoyed your review i didnt think i'd watch the whole thing but your insight was very entertaining. i think i missed somthing but how does the old guy know that shane killed the fat guy. he wasnt there ?. this was my favorite episode of the season, really sucks that there is going to be a break for couple months.

  • @Pandabearmadness Thanks for watching. Dale doesn't know (since he wasn't there he can't know for sure) but he suspects that Shane killed Otis. Dale thinks that he has Shane all figured out, and given the fact that he witnessed Shane pointing a gun at Rick, he probably figures that Shane killed Otis.

  • Great Review!!

I really like Shane he is the only one who see the reality of the world full of zombies, is shoot or be eaten they got to wake up of what really is happening i hope that Sophia's dead make them realize what kind of world they are living now

  • Dale is definitely a suspect for taking the guns, also Carl for saying "bullshit", and T-Dog for smashing the water zombie's head, and Maggie for breaking an egg over Glenn's head.

  • Awesome review, as always. What I took from Sophia's emergence from the barn was the humanization of ALL zombies. The instant I saw Sophia, I became someone who couldn't kill a zombie.

  • It's hard to make that argument, if your family turned violent would you want to be rid of them? Witrhout knowledge of what a zombie is?

  • @FilmzRule Zombies don't just turn violent, they are LIVING DEAD; there's a huge difference. Shane shot that zombie at the end of the episode five times and it kept coming. Do you really believe that that zombie is a "person"? Based on what we know about biology zombies are "people" that under normal circumstances should be dead and STAY dead. So, yes, if my family turned into zombies I would kill them all.

  • Dale suspect? omg..fail

  • @FilmzRule A person who steals the group's primary means of self-defense against flesh eating zombies is not suspect? Dale is a sneaky little bastard in my eyes, because like I said, he manipulates people covertly all while appearing to be a "concerned guy."

  • @uberhikari ya i agree i think somethings up with dale but shanes not too innocent himself lol all in all good reveiw i like how you made it extremely clear to people who havent watched the episode yet to go watch it i mean i personally thought alot happened in that episode

  • @uberhikari great review man, only thing i'd maybe argue against is dale being that much of a suspect and howyou were confused with the comment "do you think the guns will keep us safe?" .. yeah, ofcourse the guns will keep them safe, but i think dale was trying to make obvious to shane the fact that he had witnessed him pointing a gun at rick.. thus how can the group truely be safe if shane has access to these guns when he's threatening to kill the likes of rick and already otis?

  • @FilmzRule Dale is one of the biggest douches in the comics, and we have already seen they are not afraid to make some major changes in the TV version. Who knows?

  • Shane did what was necessary, but in a wrong way. Rick showed he had more balls than Shane.

  • Picture quality's fine....

  • Yo homeboy you're too anti-dale. Shane is a lot more of a suspect character than dale is. Dale may be manipulative but he's not dangerous like Shane. Come on, the dude already killed Otis and wanted to kill Rick.

  • @thuglifenos Of course Dale is dangerous; he stole the group's guns in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. How is that not dangerous? At least you can count on Shane to put his life on the line to protect you. You know where he stands and he doesn't try to manipulate people. Dale is dangerous because he is a pretender, he is a snake. He can't be trusted.

  • @uberhikari

Shane is evil and cannot remotely be trusted to protect you. If it comes down to it he puts himself above anyone else and will end you if it means his own survival. This is the second review where I see people making Shane out to be a good guy and I find it crazy. I think the problem is most shows paint someone as pure evil when those type of people don't really exist. Shane is as evil as they come.

  • shane is my new hero great review bro i cant wait for next year

  • I could listen to you the whole day, awesome review btw. Good job.

  • Thanks a ton for this review, really nice.

    Keep it up!

  • poor sophia :(

  • Thanks for the great review, but I have to say that I disagree with you. It's true that Shane was right about Sophia but I don''t think that it was necessary to kill the walkers in the barn. You said that Shane was being realistic but I think the opposite he's beginning to lose his grip on reality.

  • @iissmart1234 I can definitely see how Shane is potentially losing his grip on reality; like I said he was going ballistic. However, there are flesh eating zombies "locked" inside of a barn. Given what these people have gone through it is not unrealistic for them to feel unsafe with a hoard of zombies right next to their camp. If even one of those things gets out in the middle of the night it would be a disaster. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

  • @uberhikari its weird shane all that tough talk and anger yet he could not put down sophia rick did which proves rick is still the leader. On the talking dead they were saying that its easy putting a walker down when you dont know them but when you do it changes sophia whi they were looking for the whole season who they invested so much time looking for is a walker and nobody could put her down not even shane.

  • @iissmart1234 I am sick of this farm setting. Not enough action. I hope they get kicked out or find a farm of their own.
