  • Meh. I'd rather play Runescape in Low Detail with my old Notebook than buying a Graphics Card for $200.

  • This looks good man, how much was this card? Im wanting to buy a new computer and wanting to find a good graphics card.. thanks dude

  • @rspkerzftw

    It's around $200 on newegg

  • My new pc AMD eight core 3.8 GHz sli'd nvidia 590 gtx's beats urs like a whore

  • @ddslayer6 SLi isn't supported with Runescape. Derp. And lmao @ "Eight" core.

  • I'm always stuck on 5-10 fps even though my laptop's really new.. is that because it has a bad graphics card?

  • @HeyImJamiee

It could be. In part it's probably just due to Jagex and their fps issues at the moment.

  • @Omustardo Hmm Possibly - it Shouldn't be that low though surely?

  • @HeyImJamiee :s thats why you make sure that the stuff on the computer is good

  • @GuireGod It seemed pretty good for the price I bought it ;)

  • Comment removed

  • well it's bullshit for a little bit, people don't play for graphics... Well nice vid anyways... I hope that jagex fixes FPS issue

  • Also, Omustardo, what type of FPS do you get with that card? Is it always around 50 and how often does it dip? I haven't seen too much (if any) dipping fps in any of your videos which is great. I guess only certain places like the updated Burthorpe area, possible GE, etc. I ordered a GTX 560 ti and can't wait for it to get here i'm hoping it'll fix my FPS issues since it's even better than the 6870.

  • @PrinceTuten

Recently I've been at about 20-30 fps but that's mostly Jagex's fault.. they said they're fixing their fps issues within a few weeks and then I should go back up to my normal 40-50 hopefully.

  • @SOBOREDOFRS Type it in on the start menu.

  • On directX theyll work together on fixed screen but antialiasing wont work with bloom in resizable and same with OpenGL execpt that'll just crash when i got to resizable

  • Mine didn't work with direct X. But worked perfectly with OPENGL.

  • Castle Wars, really why if i turn on bloom there's nothing and if i put anti-aliasing on it makes it more pixelly? i have a really good pc and graphic settings and I can play every game HD but rs not?..

  • i still lagg anyideas?

  • make a guide for mac plz?(:

  • @ilikeno1sPerfect

I have no idea how to do it on a mac sorry.

  • @ilikeno1sPerfect macs=screwed on gaming

  • Thanks :)

  • now i got GREEN SCREEN WHEN I WATCH YT VIDS

  • wow nice, i do want to say guys, if you have a onboard graphics card or chipset, your game will mostly crash. thumbs up so people know :)?

  • Desecrator here, if any of you came here through my video annotation. You should pay attention, this helped me a lot to discover better settings for RuneScape, thanks Omar.

  • how do you open that catalyst control center thing?

  • Currently i have an intel 128mb onboard card, but im upgrading this week to a Radeon HD 6670 or 5570, both are 1GB. I dont lag terribly but i dont have bloom or good ground details with my current card.

  • @SuperLemonFreezeKid 1gb doesnt really matter, there are gfx cards with 2gb that are worse, it's more about the clockspeed the card has, but the 6670 is fine :)

  • Castle Wars Have you noticed lag recently on runescape? since the burthorpe update?

I have a graphics card very similar to yours (geforce gtx 560 Ti) but recently since burthorpe I've been getting quite a lot of lag? do you have the same problem?

  • @heatedup42

I lag a bit more since the update but nothing noticeable usually. The burthorpe area itself still makes me lag a lot though.

  • @Omustardo hmm

  • @heatedup42 must just be you mate

  • umm on average im 1fps-4fps

  • i don't even get 20 fps normally -.-'

  • my friend has the exact same graphics card and hopefully he will be building my computer i need for college

  • I got sapphire ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO 512mb should that be good for rs because I get around 8fps -.-

  • @paskapers3 thats really really old lol

  • Omustardo, get Camtasia Studio. You can get it for free if you torrent it and it's way better than fraps/hypercam for RS.

  • @THATS1CK

Fraps records in perfect quality with zero lag.. can't get much better than that :s

  • @Omustardo Could you help, I got Fraps but when I start to record my fps drops from 40 to 20.. :(

  • @runepl000x

Try recording with a lower FPS. I record at 30fps but going down to 15 or 20 won't reduce the quality all that much.

  • @Omustardo when i put bloom on it takes me off runescape and on to this other thing saying error technical difficulties :/

  • Comment removed

  • Bloom only works with OpenGL. I updated all my drivers, but my anti goes back to 0, when I try it with DirectX.

  • Getting an i5 2500k and a hd 6870. Does your fps stay locked at 50 or does it drop? I

  • @xlazmlx

Usually between 40 and 50, sometimes lower in really crowded areas.

  • @xlazmlx You wont be locked at 50, areas like catherby, varrock, ardy and ge you will be running at 25-35

  • Ya my Radeon 5450 doesn't like bloom on directx. Directx runs better than OpenGL though I get like 10fps with OpenGL When I set bloom on it looks like I 'zoomed in'. Like, there's big pixels

It's weird. I'll try Ur advice Tom though ;D

  • Nerdyyy voice bro

  • I have an Asus gaming PC with all updates drivers etc.

When I put on direct-X and I put anti-aliasing on, it gets all fucked up.

    Any problem-solvers out there? :)

  • lol

  • when i put bloom on it takes me off rs and on to this new thing saying tecnical diffcultys :/

  • LOL

  • Intel > AMD

  • Your Voice soooo SEXY!

  • does it work with laptops??

  • My PC graphics card only does 4x anti-a with bloom when using OpenGL

  • i can play fullscreen max detail, 45fps, no problem, my only issue is i can only record in fixed otherwise the footage is really laggy and i play around 20fps.

would that be my computer doing that or would it be my screencam?

i use unregistered hypercam 2 at the moment.. (havn't uploaded anything because i cant find a decent free editor that actually works)

  • @umm36

Try using a different codec or changing the settings for the one you use. My hypercam makes me lag too.. I just haven't bothered to find out a way to fix it since I almost only use fraps.

  • @umm36 its jagex's shitty coding and the problem that they wont code it in c++. java has to many limitations

  • @umm36 i play at 1-4fps be happy

  • I can't do this with my Nvidia GeForce Ti 550.

  • @ArmadylGodSwordsmen If you're looking for the control center, I had a hard time finding it also, just right click your desktop and it should say "NVIDIA Control panel" Hope this helps.

  • thumbnail looks like a teddy bear

  • Thanks!

  • not rly worth it to fuck up ur graphics card settings just for bloom effect :/

  • how could i check my control centre? to high the graphics up?

  • Rofl dude, now i see what a piece of shit my computer - graphic card rlly is lol. I got NVIDIA Qadro FX 1400, it gots like 128mb rofl. changing that in a matter of days

  • Comment removed

  • yesterday i uploaded a vid talking about anti aliasing as-well haha :P

  • My pc would crash if i did that

  • what does bloom do?

  • @lSajjadl Makes things which omitt light (e.g Lava, fire etc...) alot brighter.

  • @Noobish505 omitt?

    lol

  • @richisnang1 Just one 't' sorry.

  • thnx, very helpdul, i have an amd radeon 6750, so was very helpful for me =p set it same as urs ;) much better

  • i've tried what you said, but every time i turn on bloom it just turns to a pixely fuck, any idea how to fix this?

  • @igotnuthinlolz

Try turning antialiasing on and off a few times, hopefully it will fix it.

  • @Omustardo tried it, it didn't work

  • Thanks omar

  • Would a Quad core 3.4 Ghz i7 Processor with 16GB RAM and a onboard intel HD gfx card be able to run RS max settings on directx?

  • @retroiest i didn't even finish reading your question.. but YES

  • @stravvhat lol are the specs that good o.O

  • @retroiest

Intels onboard graphics are functional but you'll see fps drops in busy places and in HD mode in certain areas. Even a $60 graphics card will perform better. Onboard graphics are basically what most laptops have which isn't very promising for gaming use.

  • What exactly does anti-aliasing do?

  • @Wickd004

Antialiasing makes rs look less pixelated by smoothing together pixels. It looks a whole lot better with it on.

  • @Omustardo Not if you have a monitor that doesn't support antialiasing, it looks horrible lol.

  • how i get it at max graphics i downloaded the downloadable client and did a right click on the shortcut and pressed run with powerfull graphical processor. Then you choose your graphical gard and not the standard one. This way i got everything on highest with the standard one i couldnt use bloom and anti aliasing

  • I have eight GeForce GTX 580s? Who is mad?

  • RS is more CPU intensive than anything, so having a strong CPU (multiple cores don't help much; the game is not very well optimised for multiple threads) will really help.

  • I run Runescape on 3fps with all the lowest possible settings :(

  • I love you even though I havent tried it yet, i'll sure be trying it after this dung! since i have the same control panel ;)

  • i thought he was being sarcastic when i read the title.. but then again Rs to this guy is all serious.

  • When ever I try using bloom the text above Characters is blurry and darker than all other text, is this normal?

  • @littz8 Stalked.

  • @littz8

I've never heard of that happening so it's probably pretty uncommon.

  • what kinda internet speed you running? t1?

  • @yourdeadinhalo2

About 6mb/s download and 0.7mb/s upload.

  • I have the same problem about anti aliasing ever since the bot nuke so it's not just you lol

  • Thanks soo much, awesome guide :D

  • I have a similar pc as you, except i have 4gb ram and amd hd 6850. After 2-3 hours rs on high settings my gpu is running at 55 degrees, is it similar to what your running at? Maybe im being paranoid i just think my system is running slightly hot.

  • @ExpWaster

55 degrees Celsius seems ok to me.

  • I like the bloom effects, but it shows pixels on characters which doesn't look good.

  • useful mate, but it still doesnt help me!! i have ati radeon n all, but i guess each one to there own with computer settings and all that.. guess ill just have to wait for Jagex's epically slow tech team to sort it out :/

  • but i like low detail :p

  • Max detail works fine for me, except the game always crashes when I turn on bloom.

  • still didn't work, did everything u said

  • hey Omar how do i do it if im on windows XP? ive got an ati radeon xpress 1100 graphics card

  • I have catalyst control center but its not opening that screen that you have... IM SO CONFUSED.

  • @JCproductions1613

There ought to be some options for gaming in there somewhere.

  • @Omustardo Ill send you the link to the screenie of my screen this is what i get.

Plz help me because my computer runs runescape very slow even on low settings and id love to play on good settings

  • @JCproductions1613 Update your graphic card drivers from ati.

  • @owned2death Idk how to do that.

  • my game stil crashes when i try to use bloom lol...

  • i got best computer you can buy and im using lowest possible settings, runescape just looks shit with "good graphics"

  • Comment removed

  • My old laptop with a radeon 3500 series runs RS max details with bloom, etc. 50fps Runescape isn't a demanding game at all.

  • what is anti alising? i am able to have it at 4x but i dont know what it does so i leave on none.

  • @ham10444

Antialiasing pretty much makes rs look less pixelated. It looks a whole lot better with it on.

  • wooot same graphics cards as you makes my life easier

  • How do you go to the control centre? I have a Radeon, but cant find the way to get to the control centre

  • @naamloos39

For me, it's always in the task bar on the bottom right of my screen and I also get an option when I right click on my desktop so try that too.

If that doesn't help then try google I guess.

  • @Omustardo ok thanks! :)

  • @Omustardo got it yay!!! :D

  • @Omustardo the first part was helpful. but i didnt know what the hell you where talking about on second part how do you get to 3d application settings cause i have radeon too.

  • @ChannelFoe

How to find your graphics control panel:

For me, it's always in the task bar on the bottom right of my screen.

There is also an option when I right click on my desktop so try that too.

Google is always another option if all else fails.

  • nice vid but l2 disable maintain asppect ratio

  • I'm on a radeon hd 4200 with 50 fps on fixed and around 40 on max details but the bloom and stuff just ins't necessary imo i grew up with playing rs on shitty graphics

  • Thank you very much for the help :D

  • does anyone know where to go for an intel (r) hr graphics card?

  • i have the excact same graphics card:) ( only mine is from sapphire) xD

  • Is there a reason why bloom will only work when I am in fixed screen mode? When I put it in resizeable rs just crashes.

  • The 6670 is going to be the graphics card of the upcoming xbox 720, i personally think it's a real shame they can't use the latest ones. the 6670 is DECENT but can't run bf3 on average

  • How can I figure out what graphics card I have?

  • @TWDeflect

Press the windows button + r, type dxdiag, and press enter, go to the tab that says display and it show your graphics card info.

If you don't know what I mean by the windows button, then open task manager, click the "new task" button, type dxdiag, press enter, and then follow what I wrote above.

  • @Omustardo Got it, thanks.

  • My normal settings are set to min and I still average 4-5 fps. I can't update my graphics card either, yay for perm lag.

  • @oldsoulyoungbody You should try all different settings, because my graphics card can't run in a lower detail at all, it has to be at the max settings for everything for runescape not to lag. So lets say you have an average graphics card, see if it runs better on OpenGL or DirectX, and then try different settings.

  • @oldsoulyoungbody

Can you turn down settings in your graphics card control panel?

  • @Omustardo Trying to access my graphics card control panel, saying I have mismatched versions. I'll reinstall and attempt to lower the graphic settings. I have a Dell xps m1530 a comp that is generally regarded as a pile of shit as I can’t upgrade the graphics card because it's soldered to the motherboard, as well as suffering from display driver problems associated with overheating. Thanks Dell for doing your long term testing...

  • @Omustardo what is anti aliasing?

  • Comment removed

  • i got a radeon graphics card but can't find the control center anywhere, any help on that?

  • what does anti-aliasing do?

  • Thanks, helped alot

  • sweet vid man thanks dude:D

  • Comment removed

  • I think maybe your giving the wrong impression, you don't need a radeon 6870 for runescape, much cheaper cards can still run it on max with no GPU lag. Runescapes more about good internet then it is about good PC specs. However nice vid :)

  • @TheChrisy99 It's actually more about your cpu for maxing fps

  • @ert00034 Good cpu helps but you don't need anything crazy

  • omar do you do a lot of rswiki editing?i think u do

  • @axxisis He doesnt, he tried to get the username omustardo but it was taken so he didnt bother making an account.

  • @axxisis

Not much but I'll edit a small thing here or there. I know a couple people who do a lot of images on there so I'm in a bunch of the pictures.

  • the porn screwed up my comp so i don't care

  • DirectX doesn't show up for me. I'm using a MacBook Pro.

  • @runix90

I have no idea about macs with RS, sorry

  • @Omustardo how do you find where to go to change the settings for your card?

  • @deafchurchrvb1

For me, the graphic control center is always in the task bar on the bottom right of my screen. I also get an option when I right click on my desktop so try that too. It may be different for your graphics card so try google if that doesn't help.

  • @Omustardo thanks bro that worked

  • @runix90 DirectX is for Windows only

  • @runix90 Macs can only use OpenGL, DirectX is a Windows copyright

  • Why do you still play Castle Wars?

  • @seize451 Completionist cape maybe? He has to play like 5k games.

  • @BulletOwnzU

    he has trimmed comp already

  • @BulletOwnzU hes got a trimmed completionist cape

  • @seize451 it's fun?

  • @seize451 Cause he's Castle Wars.
