I think Dave is going about it the wrong way. If I ever become a father, and if my kids got soccer punched by a bully, I would report it to the bully's parents and the school principal.
I love how Willie is always the first to believe Val's sarcasm as truth. Kind of reminds me of when her hair was dyed blonde. He didn't see the mistake in that and thought his mom was uber cool. His naivete is definitely endearing...
The comment that Annie makes about Godot is another example of the highly witty writing that took place during this period of the show. Waiting for Godot is a play by Samuel Beckett, in which the characters wait for someone named Godot, who never arrives. Knowing this makes Annie's joke a lot funnier. :-)
Two crazy 80's trends: David is carrying a duffle bag, and Mark is wearing Guess? jeans!

Valerie Harper was the nicest, friendliest, warmest celebrity I've ever met--beautiful human being---wish we could be friends!!!

@SHRINA17 Hey did you actually meet her? She seems so nice in the interviews I have seen.

Wow, you're right. I never got the reference, nor did the audience I presume since no one laughed. But I agree, it is indeed witty.

Correction, some did laugh, but not nearly enough to show that people got the reference. It sounded more canned than anything else.

"Godot, who never arrives. " - you're not supposed to give that part away. *wink*
