  • @The1stSupermagnetman i got it online but thank you :)

  • @The1stSupermagnetman Can you give me the link?

  • Very helpful!

  • Wow really great! Thanks alot!!

  • Wow this totally helped me raise my score by 3 points on a practice one thank you so much!!!

  • Thanks ! I only got an 18 on the science section ACT but I only was able to get through 2 pages of it. I had at least 2 pages (front and back I think ) left. So I had to guess. The 1st question on the test threw me off a bit b.c I didn't know what to expect, but after that it was easy to understand. As I went through this video I did the questions first then listened to the answers and I was getting them all right. So my biggest issue is the time constraint which your videos are helping me with

  • is this still accurate for today's ACT? or is it an old test?

  • I got a 34 in science the first time I took the test and didn't really study. But the second time I didn't study at all for the section, got 34s in everything else, and a 25 (!!!) in science. I'm hoping that I just skipped a bubble and filled in some of the answers incorrectly.

  • Anyone who is looking for the test booklet and doesn't have one.. There is an online PDF version at

  • dude i love how he just dominates the first question like its nothing lol

  • Im taking the ACT on the 11th, i need a 29 atleast. i hope i can make it

  • thanks! i need one point in my compostite score to make a 20,000 dollar difference in scholarship mooney over 4 years. i think that this is going to help me alot

  • How can I analyze the ACT questions faster, and more efficiently?

  • @boomcackboomboom you can underline the key words and look back if u need to

  • THANK YOU MEN

  • Any advice to a sophmore in high school?

  • @savageultraviolence read alot, spend an hour reading everyday for a month or two before the test. Reading comprehension is the biggest key on the ACT

  • Public Schools don't prepare you to make 30's and above unless you just have a gift!

  • Are you a scientist?

  • Hey, I am better than a scientist - I am an electrical engineer:). Of course scientists will see it differently. The biggest difference is that scientists usually love to do their research to answer questions - engineers love to solve problems. Engineers usually use lots of technology that scientists lay the foundation for. Engineers see everything as a problem to be solved and scientists see it as a question to be answered. I hope this helps

  • @SuperMagnetMan

so without scientists you wouldnt have the technology to do anything, thus scientists are more important and on the cutting edge, you could be seen as their grunts

  • @SuperMagnetMan Alot of the laws you use as an electrical engineer were founded by scientists not engineers. Science and engineering is along the same level whether developing a new kind of motor or creating a new drug scientists and engineers are all producers of goods that benefit the world. Whether those goods are physical or data are irrelevant and saying you are better than a scientist shows inferiority. Don't bash the people that first discovered the electron that you use everyday in work.

  • @TechKnowlogee

Never said scientists didn't come up with laws - of course most of the "laws" were before there were any titles for people of science. Newton, Archimedes, Euler, Hertz, Da Vinci, Gauss, etc. all pretty much curious people who tried thousands of things and recorded what happened. Edison was definitely an engineer even though I don't recall that he had the education for a title. Obviously you missed the point - I would hate being a "scientist" because I love solving problems!

  • @SuperMagnetMan So I guess scientists don't solve problems. Is that what you are saying. I would just like that statement defined.

  • @TechKnowlogee

True scientists search for answers to questions. That is what science is - sometimes those answers are just for an increase in general knowledge and other times it is used to solve problems. Engineers and scientists and many other professions are trained to sometimes do both. As an engineer I have had to create experiments to learn what I needed to solve a problem and I have worked with lots of scientists who take what they learn and solve an existing problem.

  • @SuperMagnetMan

can you go over a video on how to approach a conflicting viewpoints passage of more than 2 scientists?

    thanks

  • thx for the video

    god bless

  • Has anyone ever like left the test and then all the stuff came bak to them... Like I clearly remember a question on the 2009 test about dirt composition and the anwer came to me in a dream...

  • If you need the 2007/2008 booklet, search "Preparing For The ACT 2007" on Google, go to the first result, and click the link to "ERIC Full Text"

  • @UndeadChocob0 Thank you so much for that link! I found the test there!

  • agh i have the 2009 booklet

  • i freaked as well but i found it. it starts in the 2009 one on page 42

    hope that helps! =D

  • what is ACT ? what is the purpose of this test?

  • to get into college

  • Got a 26 my first try, end of junior year, w/o ever opening a single study book, only problem is i need a 27 to get the awesome scholarship. I think i can probably do it, test taking just stresses me out. I'm actually gonna study this time, so hopefully i can get a 28+

  • yea i realized that afterwards

  • Shitt!!!! that was only 1 question!!

  • 1 passage - 7 questions

  • I took the test & told them not to send me my results, I was part of the national High School testing of the 11th grade class. I'm still not sure if I'm pursing a college career. But I'm sure I did fine.

  • First time sophomore and I got a 24. Looking for a 27 for Presidential (full ride) scholarship. =D Wish me luck for the next 8 tests!!!! =D

  • hey sorry to bother you but i am taking the ACT test this saturday any heads up on what i should really study i need to get a 17 to get into college thanks

  • a 17?

    thats below the average yo

  • @kaldude8 u do realize that u get 12 points for signing your name. That means u only got like 5 or less rite on the act

  • that's not true at all... you don't get 12 points for signing your name you idiot...

  • as a junior in first semester i got a 27. i ended up bringing it up to the 30's and colleges pretty much just throw money and stuff at you.

  • I got a 19, I didn't even open a book...i love being lazy =p

  • i just got a 22 too. my sis got a 30 on the same test.

  • @bigmoney121 27, but my sister got a 30. I hate sisters. . . id be just fine with a 27 if it wasn't for her....

  • geez, hopefully dis video helps me out, im taking it in three days!!!!!!!! i got a 22 the first time, looking for a 25. :)

  • same.

  • Ok so i got a 13 on my test...yes i know it is bad, but i really had no idea what i was expecting for it. Now i am retaking it on sat. Hopefully i can get in the lower 20s this time

  • i got a 16..i need to do better

  • hahahahah

  • its terrible...i know i suck at test

  • Well at least your prepping. I know people who have increased there score by 8 points--just between two tests! Well, good luck!

  • Thanks.

  • This is really helpful. I hope I do well on Saturday =\

  • how did u do??

  • I am a 7th grader and compared to what I do in middle school the science passages are really hard. do you have any suggestions on how I could understand the passages better?:o) Thanks

  • Of course the passages are hard, it is designed for 11th and &12th graders. In most cases the ACT uses the long scientific / technical terms there is no need to understand what those words are. The answers are not dependent on your knowledge - just your reasoning ability.

  • Sweet I am in 7th grade, too! I am taking the ACT on February 9, 2009.

  • why would u take it as a 7th grader?

  • Just so I can see what it is like.

  • i have a question since my test is this coming saturday but i have a dilema of approach i find it easier to read the question then find the anwser but some teachers/tutors say i should read the passage first what is your opinion?

    btw great videos

  • I strongly suggest reading the passage before answering the questions so that you know what it is about. Typically the first 3 questions are direct lookups and they delude you into thinking you can answer them all by just reading the question. Once they hit the analysis and conclusion drawing questions you have to know what the passage is about.

  • thank you for your help

  • does anyone have a online version of this test book (preparing for the act book?). I can't find anything online about these passages.

  • Actually your guidance counselor should have a copy of the booklet. The ACT organization gives these booklets freely to all guidance offices. I think you may be able to ask the ACT people if they can mail a copy to you. Since the test is copyrighted and I don't have permission to post it online I just read from the booklet and students get it from their schools. OK?

    Thanks

  • this was a great help..I followed along with my act practice test

  • Thats great... But I am a student who has trouble getting through the passages because I am a slow reader. On that kind of passage with the reading and charts/graphs (section with 6 questions) would you recommend reading the questions and then going back to the passage and searching for the answers?
