his feet didnt leave the ground til he made contact which is not illegal, it was under 2 seconds, the only way it could be considered illegal is because he passed it and the dude hit him after the pass was completed. which depending on the ref will be called.

First a late hit is 3 seconds after the puck has left ur stick, second first thing u learn in first year of hitting look after u pass. Third clean hit caught him off gaurd,so he wasnt ready for so it looked bad but really wasnt.

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE YOUR FEET ON A HIT, there for this is not at all a clean hit, but as for it being late? that is a perfect example of finishing a check, i would call its timing clean (even if its not a head shot, NHLers are not allowed to jump into check anymore)

I think the officials need to get on the same page on whats clean and whats not. They call some that are not needed, and let others go where they should have called one.

Thats not a late hit the d-man had a good 1 to 2 seconds to hit him. Lupul had his head down the the defenseman recognized him and made him pay for it. My only problem is I can't tell whether he left his feet or not. It seems to me that he only left his feet after he hit him. So its a clean hit on my book. What do you think?

This was a clean hit...you have roughly 3 seconds to hit your opponet after they get rid of the puck. Its not a late hit...I think it could be considered roughing maybe. But not interference. Players just cant stop on a dime when they pass hte puck.
