it's not St. Louis MO , but its right accross the bridge, it's actually ILLINOIS. But its so intertwined that people usually speak of both as one in the same. The Hill is St.Louis city, old italian neiborhood, with not too many italians left. You gotta understand that East St.Louis is funded by Illinois, and they dont give a shit, so they leave the problem for Missouri, and MO won't invest because then the taxes would go to ILLINOIS. Kinda fucked up

I am a white insurance agent who sells life insurance in east st louis to primaraly black folks. I love it. For the most part people are very receptive and willing to listen and even sign.But there are some people who wont even mak eye contact or shake your hand properly. But thats anywhere.......I guess

The funding for Police is fucked up thats why. I used to live in South St.Louis city and now I am out in the county. I am a criminology major and one thing I have learned is that Funding for the Police in St.Louis only considers the population of the City itself. It doesn't take into account all the other small municipalities, which are cities of their own, like Normandy, Welston, so on. Meanwhile as we all know all these cities and most likely crime is intertwined.

Exactly, St.Louis city as a whole is a huge ghetto. with some nice areas sprinkled in. The only really good parts are The Central West End and St.Louis county and by county I mean South County and West County. North County is almost as raggedy as the City until you get out deep North.
