@stoone113 I thought the same thing at first, but the convertibles on these are manual, so there's no heavy motor to do the work for you. I can't imagine it weighs much more than a hard top, unless it's carbon fiber or kevlar.

@stoone113 all miatas are convertables.. the soft top folds down when you put the hardtop on.. even if you remove the softtop for racing, the hard top still weighs more then the softtop. however due to the better aerodynamics of the hardtop it is preferable for airflow over the rear of the car. Aftermarket hardtops also have a better designed rear that flows onto the rear better too, but may reduce trunk access. Some are even 2 piece so part can open to open trunk as well.

The Miata would probably be struggling. The new 911 Turbo is putting 500 horse out of the crank with a top speed of about 190+ mph. 0-60 is about 3.5.

If the Miata even had a small blower on it, it would help. Nat.asp engines start dropping off on the upper end when they can't pull in enough air to feed the upper RPMs. I've seen a lazy 6lbs of boost do wonders on a V8's top end.

well there is no way in hell a stock ls1 with a lid and exhaust makes 328 whp. That is BS, stock ls1s make 280 wheel perfectly healthy stock and my ls1 has exhaust, tune, lid, msd ignition and ram air and it makes only a bit more than that.

so seeing as how the numbers on the miata arent real, the ones on the TA probably arent either, im pretty sure its mostly stock

yeah i got proof, i have dyno sheets from my car, why would i lie about it. camaro/ta/firebird/Z28/ss they are all identical basically and all make roughly the same amount of power but should all put down over 300hp to the wheels in factory form, not 280hp. A 2000ish mustang GT puts down 280hp stock. And A4's refer to the automatic trannies in camaros which lose more power to the wheels and normally dyno lower.
