@mrNOGunNOFun You take two layers of A4 paper, smear one side with PVA glue so its completley covered, then alighn the other peice of A4 over it leave to dry with a weight on top this might take 24 hours to harden and there you go. I use the same method to make caseing for pyrotecnic bangers, works well.

when you make your own paper cartridge cases, how do you make the part where the bullet would fit in? Is it a separate solid roll thats cut to the proper angle but its flat underneath in the case? or is it just like a tinier shell that you would add strips to to attach it to the main part of the case, thus making the angled part? i know that sounds confusing, ill make a vid to show u what i mean if u need

An automatic weapon is just a self-loading firearm that doesn't utilize a trigger disconnector. Your statement about the AK being gas-operated is irrelevant, as it's essential to both semi and full auto operation.

I'm still working on making wood molds for my AK project since I plan on using only JB Weld instead of regular elmers glue when binding the layers of paper together.

@elsalzo JB Weld is an epoxy or super strong glue. once is cured (dry) its stronger than steel & extremely resistant to heat. I used it b4 to fix a crack in my old Subaru's 1.6 liter engine block & to this day it still hasn't failed 0.0

The problem of using it to bind the sheets of paper together is that 1: the mix semi drys fairly fast & that you need to apply pressure to properly bind the 2 pieces of paper together (via wood molds) like Tacome does with regular elmers glue.
