The reason people (liberals) have a problem with the death penalty is because they believe that when someone murders someone else, they are not responsible. It's society's fault. It because of poverty. It's George W. Bush's fault. It's because of white racism against blacks. But liberals are hypocrits because they believe that when a conservative does something wrong- Oh, they're responsible. It's only if you're a black thug or another constituency of the Democratic party, that you're not.

I fully supported the death penalty until I became a Christ follower. I now find concern in punishing murderers by killing. I fully support aggressive Law Enforcement and holding people responsible for their actions, to include jailing them forever. Kill for self-defense if needed, but killing for punishment just seems wrong, and its NOT justified in the Bible as Christ said to love one another. Lock them up for life if needed, but always love one another.

When there is no longer any sense of fair trial, criminals will kill cops when cornered, what would they have to loose? When there is a chance to be let off the hook, they will take that if they are outnumbered and there is no chance of survival. Rule of Law is a good system. Some crimes warrant the death penalty. Others do not such being concieved in a mother's womb. If you want a real story, cover the abortion murder centers and ask them to reason with you killing the unborn.

If it can be proven by dna or other means that cannot be disputed, then execution would be in order. Life in prison? Is that fair to the tax payers? why would it be torture? if you have people who like to kill, doing the killing of others who like to kill until their time to be killed it may be a good productive way for them to spend their time. Some may have committed their acts to offset a lack of education or economic downturn, desprate people will turn to desprate means. If a robbery attempt goes bad they may have made poor choices. it does not mean they enjoyed themselves. But you could probably find many that would enjoy it. see your too young to have paid taxes for years for these losers to rot in cells.

You can't show people killing is wrong by killing people. You show them that it's only okay if it's justified and you can get away with it. A justice system based on fear and punishment can only at best be self-sustaining. We should focus on rehabilitation. It shouldn't be "Don't commit a crime because you'll be punished", but "Don't commit a crime because there's better things to do".

I personally disagree with the death penality. I don't know anything more horrible than waiting for you last day to live. I think the people to talk to are those who managed to escape the penality... because they were found innocent of the charges.

Our system isn't perfect.. so we shouldn't have definite punishments.
