A standard build is what it is. standard. if all build the same all the time, then you wouldn't need to scout. a cheese is a build that contain a risk, in order to cath your enemy offguard.

to sum it up. a cheese is just a build designed to win fast.

with this specific cheese, even if you fail at killing the enemy off, you'll still be able to easely trancistion into second tier

I think, another reason why he just said 'screw it' and put the hatchery right by his main so that the toss player could not contain him inside his main. I, as a zerg player understand him. Hes just protecting his ramp from 2 plyon/cannon that toss players do. Plus, what force said, he doesn't care really, hes just gonna make another one. lol Protecting himself and expoing, I think he did a good job with that.

i think its a mistake for protoss players to try to wall in against zerg. as protoss player, whenever im against zerg i always build close to my nexus. i spent too many games chasing zerglings with slow-ass zealots back and forth between my mineral line and my gateway pylons before realising this.

ohh wow I didn't know this was a official strat haha.. ive been doing this for quite a while because I didn't find producing from one hatch efficient even with a queen so usually I would build a 2nd hatch inside my base then build a spawning pool.. after that I would get one queen for creep spreading before vomiting larva... I would then use only my 1 hatch for drones and the 2nd for units.. then I would expand once I got 16 drones on each min patch.. its been pretty stale for me for any game..

Cheese is still strategy. If it gets you the win then why not? Also, it tests the opponent's skill as well. However, if I am in the mood for a longer game and want to increase my skill of higher tier units then I won't cheese.

Cheese: Not Standard, All In, Gimmicky, Cheap, Lame, Dumb, Haet!

The Zergs response here is clearly not standard, yes. But is dropping a Pylon at your opponents expo part of a standard Toss build? No.

This game is about responding to your opponent and winning. The Zerg here TRIED to go standard play in a 15 expo, but was forced into a certain situation. He made what he could of a 'cheesy' pylon placement, and won the game.

Thats the point.

If a zerg goes 15 expo-14 pool, that is an all in. The protoss player can counter that on Blistering sands by throwing down a forge after the first gateway. chronoboost the first zealot and build a canon at the expansion. The zealot will be there together with a canon before the zerlings can save the expansion :)

Zerg going 15 expo 14 pool all in?

I am sorry sir (ma'am?) but you are mistaken. 14,15, or 16 Expo is STANDARD play for Zerg in every matchup but ZvZ, watch any professional play and you will see nearly 100% of the time in ZvT and ZvP Zerg will fast expand.

The only reason it doesn't happen as much in ZvZ is because early ling bane can wipe you out if you go FE.

1 base play as Zerg is much more all in because you can't keep up past early game with so little larva.

@Nathan1el Nah man, you go your normal build to get speedlings and then you still get gas until 100 and you upgrade +1 atk. Then from 28-30 food you only produce zerglings so you get up to 50-60 zerglings. It works against 2000 diamond players. But at this high level you kinda need to scout for DT and Stargate but it has worked all the way up this far ^^
