  • Oh.. just give Michael his crown.. he totally deserves it for this awesome performance! :D

  • Michael Jackson = Best Dancer of All Time.

  • 3:04 doesnt that kid look like a little Don Cheadle? hehe =)

  • 0:40 oh my god listen to the crowd go wild for Mike hehehehe =)

  • how old was michael here?

  • @NANDO218 This was in 1983. Michael was born in 1958; he was 25.

  • @CheckMate657879 24, this was early into 1983.

    Just noting.

  • That's right. Silly me - didn't check the exact dates before I posted my comment; I just did the general math - subtracted 1958 from 1983. However, he was closer to 25 than 24; so, he was about 25. The show was taped on March 25th; it didn't air until May 16th, and MJ would turn 25 on August 29th. He was 24, though. Thank you.

  • @NANDO218

    24-25

  • I couldn't stop watching...

  • I was overseas in Japan when I saw this clip...I was standing in the exchange video and audio eqipment area...I was completely blown away by MJ's performance...Yup, in my eyes, MJ had grown up well...

  • OMG this made me smile, laugh and cry. Great memories!!! That was a STAR!!!

  • step out for the michael jackson of the 70's. welcome to the michael jackson of the 80's

  • This my friends is the reason why Michael Jackson will forever be The Undisputed, Never Duplicated, Most Amazing Entertainer that the World has ever known; The King Of Pop, Rock & Soul Mr. Michael Joseph Jackson. I Miss You.

  • Thank you, this is a great video!!!!

  • true love

  • that guy who was standing was clapping hard as HELL, idiot lol

  • By far - this was the best Motown reunion! I can remember it as it happened...

    Thanks for sharing...

  • Is it wrong if i clicked off the video at 14:28?

  • MJ.. Liquid Magic that makes music!!

  • I know very soon we are all going to see all of our loved ones again. Those who have passed into the true state of being. Life is all about learning to love and to love even when going through the hard times. We are all humans and Michael was too. I miss very much and could feel the light dim when he passed.Everyday I have to come back to love because of someone trying to be evil or down talking another kind person on you tube. I am only human and want to make that change. Love wins in the end

  • mj rocks

  • Don't get me wrong I love the Michael Jackson and the Jacksons performances, but what I like the most about this clip is the dance troupe after their performance and their Marvin Gaye routine. The modern dance choreography is off the hook.

  • man i remember that like yesterday, i was the talk of the hood the next day

  • Thanks so much for this video it brought back such good memories.I love the Motown sound......

  • @MrForever00 I agree.

I don't even remember the rest of the show

  • Billie Jean was the only non-Motown sound performed that night...that shows the star power he had.smh

  • I would have hated to have been the act to follow MJ lol Still memorizing til this day!!

  • @hydajames Right!

  • real dark/brown skin black man=real black music!

  • The amount of rouge, blush, glitter, and jheri curl juice on stage is astounding!! Oh, the 80's...

  • @loh711 LMFAO, I know right!!!!

  • the is ZAJEBISTE MICHAŁ JESTEŚ WIELKI!!!

  • I cried watching this. I love the Jackson 5 and I miss MJ. I love all these song!

  • there will never be another michael jackson he is so greatly missed.

  • very good , the jacksons !

  • THEM TIGHT ASS PANTS LOL

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH EXCITED

  • Lol

I was cheesing when I heard the beat of billie jean. It doesn't matter how manytimes I see/watch him perform that song it always have my heart racing.

  • @lmfaogirl659 I feel the exact same way :)

  • Michael Jackson was just completely freaking UNTOUCHABLE at this time. He really was. He owned his entire career, but at this time it was like everything he did or touched was solid gold. Even though he lip-synced Billie Jean in this performance, nobody cared because he just flipped a switch and went into a level no one has since even touched. and never came back. King Of Pop, greatest entertainer in all over history. Michael Joe Jackson (1958-2009)

  • who in the world could follow MJ and the Jacksons.....I'm pretty sure that's why they had just a dance number to follow them

  • Legendary!

  • Thumbs up if you think The Jacksons/MJ Performances should have been the main event.

  • @bashbro1able haha. it was.

  • @nickjonasbeyonce4eva I actually meant the final performance.

  • @bashbro1able That would've been ideal, especially since MJ just started his solo career and Billie Jean was a hit at the time.

  • lmao that kid at 3:03 is like"ohhh this my jamm " :D

  • marlon jackson stuck that step at 1:09.....he was bringing it

  • That glove! What a pity! It was auctioned off to a wealthy Hong Kong businessman and now it is displayed in an Asian hotel. I think it was an important piece of MJ memorbilia from his career and should of been donated to a museum so that many of his fans could see. Does anyone else feel the same way as I do?

  • @clancy388 WTF!!! It's not a racial thing, but that glove should be in the U.S.!!!

  • @clancy388 yes i do

  • @clancy388 one day ! i will rob that peace of shit guy ! and take that glove to a museaum

what a foker he is !!

  • @Sahil89NL damn I feel the same. There's this thing called 'Julien's Auctions' and they're selling stuff that originally belonged to MJ! (sadly, they already sold a few stuff!) If I made my own MJ glove (the exact one he's wearing in the video), I would grab a plain golf glove (left hand) and cover it with these crystal diamond things.

  • @The3BBCs rimestone

  • @lollypop081 ... rhinestone yes I know. I heard something about Swarovski crystals?

  • @clancy388 i couldnt agree more....

  • Poor Michael, he was stunningly beautiful and had a magnificent gift in his voice. I love you Michael and won't hear a bad word about you. Rest in peace MJ - gone to soon xx

  • Michael Jackson: Best Entertainer that will ever live. EVER. <3

  • teeeehhheeeee

  • I want you RAHM.

  • Michael Jackson will always be remember through his music, I got inspirered by him to sing "I'll Be There" at my school's talent show.

Love you Michael Jackson :) ;)

  • Michael, that was your night! There will never be someone like you! Miss you!

  • the audience go crazy when The Jackson is on the stage !!

  • LMAO, their clothes ... 0.o

  • to muchhhhhhh

  • The performance that catapulted Michael Jackson to Fame-The Moonwalk on Motown 25 years. Looking back it was amazing to see but Michael got better over the years performing the Moonwalk. It took time but his dancing abilities were finally recognized and last summer of 2010 he was inducted into the Dance Hall of Fame held in New York where Marlon Jackson represented the family and accepted the award. We all miss you Michael! I certainly feel he should have received this award many years ago.

  • @clancy388 I totally Agree! Give a person their flowers & props while they're here 2 smell & enjoy it, Not wait until it doesn't matter 2 them anymore. 2 MJ that would've been his most Special Award that he'd ever received, because I think he was more Proud of his Dancing skills then singing. He perfected his moves yrs ago w/each Performance, both was GOLD. The committee held on2 his award many yrs not honoring him 4 selfish reasons. Why now, What change? MJ talent didn't, A GUILTY CONSCIOUS DID

  • @clancy388 SAY WHAT? He JUST received that award? Are you kidding me...and even after he died?? What is WRONG with America? Michael was the greatest dancer of all time!! ALL Time!!

  • @mrm64 -Thats right! Many times people receive awards after they die and not while they are alive. I say thesame thing-What is wrong with America? I think he would have appreciated this award if he received it sometime during his music and dance career.

  • @clancy388 Oh defiantly :)

  • I LOVE this. Michael is so cute <3

The Jackson 5 and Jacksons were great, I love their music and they'll be never one who can replace him or them.

    <3

  • 5 racist white people disliked this video

  • Yes, I remember Randy's car accident - he was very close to having his legs amputated but thankfully that didn't happen. He was actually joining the group long before Jermaine left - usually playing bongos and is a talented songwriter and plays several instruments. I believe he is having hard times these days but he was part of the magical Jacksons.

  • Randy was not part of the original Jackson 5; he didn't join until after Jermaine left. Maybe that's why he only came in halfway through the segment. Also, he was in a very bad car accident in1980 that seriously impaired his ability to walk for a while. I don't think he physically could have done the opening dance number.

If you look closely, you can see how stiff his legs are. They're also slightly crooked, particularly his right one. (Compare them to Jermaine's and you can really tell).

  • why did randy only come on halfway through?;L

  • tito's outfit was on point! lol

  • man...this is soooooooooooooooooooo dope!

  • mitico d'oh

  • Wow, what class!!! The Jackson 5 defined class. Nowadays these so-called/wannabe singers artists don't even have the decency to bow and thank their audience. Thank you Jacksons!!!!!

  • Two words: Michael Jackson!!!

  • Michael OWNED Motown 25 that night! Like a BOSS! Amazing in 2011!

  • Wowwwww! Amazing moments of The Jacksons!

  • This performance of Billie Jean is amazing. He just commands the stage. He never needed any props.

  • @mjjnj5fan29 You are EXACTLY right. I watch this performance all the time... he is electrifying. This is just Michael, raw talented Michael... more mezmerizing than any elaborate concert.

  • This is classic, this is legendary!!!!!!

  • Wasn't Michael Jackson handsome? I did not realize he wore the one glove so early on in his career. Don't know what happened to make him want to alter his looks so much. Just sad.

  • michael had his cake and ate it he did his studying did you?????

  • @jcrew63 yes

  • wow

    awesome

    magical...............

  • Magical!

  • AWSOME!! LOVE MJ!

  • its crazy how he was like the only person ever to be at the top since he was lil then still on top as a grown man his talent never faded he the only person like that

  • @mariahrocks22 I guess Stevie Wonder is a nobody then?! Stevie Wonder over 150,000,000 records sold/26 Grammys & counting/1 Oscar and counting/Sold out stadiums around the world/UN Messenger of Goodwill. Everybody & anybody in music,is influenced in some way by Stevie Wonder. Stevie Wonder responsible for weighted keys on synths & electronic keyboards & synths producing authentic sounding instruments, like pianos, organs, drums, bass etc. M.J. was King,S.W. is GOD of All Music!

  • @mrinnervisionz um ok but micheal jackson became famous at the age 6 so whats your point. stevie wonder is great as u said but i didnt noee he became famous at such a young young age, but ok clam down...... w.e makes you happy .have a nice day : )

  • @mariahrocks22 My point is, #1 Michael Jackson was not famous @ 6yrs old,#2 Stevie Wonder auditioned for Motown around the age of 9rs old, #3 I am calm, I was just responding to your initial comment about Michael Jackson being the only famous person, since a young age & was still just as famous, even more b4 his death. I am happy, & you have a nice day as well!

  • @mrinnervisionz ok then! : )

  • @mrinnervisionz Sure, whatever you say, but imo, his performances were no where near as exciting, interesting, or electrifying as MJ. MJ's had his fair share of great achievements as well. Greatest Album of all-time, 18 solo number ones, most succesful tour, most awards won at the grammys, Greatest Musi Video of all-time, biggest croud at a performance yet, Highest grossing Remix Album, most expensive music video, there's more but I can't fit it all. Many artists are influence by MJ too.

  • @bashbro1able You are not gonna get any argument about how bad Michael Jackson was! M.J. was the greatest stage performer that ever lived,King of Music Videos. Plz take into account what I typed about Stevie Wonder though,Stevie revolutionalized the synthesizer, keybass technique. Stevie Wonder is the only artist to have won Album of The year 3 times in a row at the Grammys! Michael Jackson was with Stevie during the entire recording of Stevie's "Songs In The Key Of Life" album!

  • @mrinnervisionz Huh? There's a lot of people who don't think MJ was bad(No pun intended). All I said was that MJ and Stevie were equal in achievements, but that MJ was a tiny bit more interesting.

  • Stevie Wonder taught Michael Jackson about writing, producing & mixing an album in the studio! Stevie Wonder also introduced the talkbox to Roger Troutman of ZAPP! Another thing U need 2 know about Stevie Wonder is, he does not use falsetto when he sing,he has a 1octave range! Michael Jackson was to dancing/performing & videos,as Stevie Wonder is to singing/songwriting & musicianship. There will never be another MJ,Elvis,MLK,Malcom X, Bruce Lee, & ,THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER STEVIE WONDER!

  • @mrinnervisionz Calm down. Where are you getting all of this? I never denied any of it. All I'm saying is that MJ is just as good of an artis as Stevie. I'm not saying MJ is better than Stevie. I know Stevie taught him a lot. I've seen their performances together.

  • @mrinnervisionz Stevie only has one octave? THAT BOY CAN SANG!!! He werks that one octave like thier ain't no tomorrow! thanks for the info

  • @mjis4evamine Stevie is a tenor, & he uses that tenor in a very unorthadox way though!

  • i like how mike did that transition into billie jean, lol

  • Its time to put this masterpiece in HD!

  • Love the dance to Marvin Gaye!!!!!!!!

  • Somebody in the audience shouted "BILLIE JEAN"! lmao

  • the jackson 5 had the audience moving the most!

  • Well, there can be no doubt in a logical mind that Michael was simply the most astonishing entertainer in history. This unrivaled performance clearly shows it; he had total command of both his body and voice. I miss you terribly, Mr. Jackson.

  • Thank you so much for sharing the entire program of Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever. I remember watching this as a little girl it first was broadcast and then hundreds of times again when my parents got it on laserdisc (ha!). It amazes me that I still know all the words, not just the songs, but the speeches, and I still get as excited as the first time I saw it. Why isn't this on DVD???? Thank you!!!!

  • @KevanAndJessica Me too. My mom had the big silver laserdisc! Looked like a silver record!!!!

  • @starmymy No... but michael did invent the version that everyone knows about

  • this might be the most amazing thing ive ever seen!

  • This performance was flawless! I miss u M.J.

  • you just don't mess with the work God has done, this is not the way he wanted michael to look--

  • The plastic surgery he had done at this time was flawless, he looked really good his nose his face all fell into place, People don't understand that when you have an addiction being drugs, smoking, drinking, in this case plastic surgery it's all the same thing I need more..

Props the the surgeon who performed on him.

  • He was an awesome singer and dancer. He was very handsome. Why all the plastic surgery? He looked fine the way he was. I just don't understand.

  • @huzzy33 He had problems. He wasn't happy period.

  • He was an awesome singer and dancer. He was very handsome. Why all the plastic surgery? He looked fine the way he was. I just don't undersand.

  • @huzzy33 I agree with you.

As black people we bet picked on for nose being wide, lips being big, being too black, and "bad" hair.

A lifetime of hearing that shit and it will make you do that.

  • I tried holding it together as The Jackson 5 was singing, but as soon as MJ started singing I'll Be There, I broke down like a baby. R.I.P MJ you're truely missed and loved ALWAYS!!!!

  • Ok Ok.......03:00 was the most UNDERRTATED spin evar!!!! Marlon had that thing DOWN! Not like Mike, but he had it down!! lol! :P

  • Micheal Jackson

  • a great group, bring back proper music, god bless michael the world has lost a great man , the jackson are brill...................

  • Who is the guy who introduced the Jacksons?

  • Comment removed

  • @rpvee Richard Pryor, often cited by most comedians as their greatest influence.

  • @Kentillman3000 Ah, thank you. :)

  • Before they were out of pooberty? lol

  • awww..i love it when he says "aww your beautiful*

  • The only way you could possibly follow that would be to walk on water.

  • Okay this performance made the 2nd coming of MJ for real.

  • I think he was told to lip synce doing billy jean, but is it right? would have he prefered to sing live? i don't know if i read it somewhere...

i'll b there was very beautiful!

  • @julijundrius He was lip-syncing, he was just concentrated on the moonwalk.

  • @jl5000 LMFAO

  • michael is theh only one who can own the stage like that! he's electrifying! just pure magic! its a shame that we'll never be able to experience such an incredible level of a performance live ever again, only he could pull off those kind of performances.. the day MJ died music and dance went with him....

  • the jacksons reunion still excites me still to this day and still makes my back hairs stand unbelievable it will never be the same again i miss those days pure music that anybody can listen too lol

  • @enjoyalove12772 Oh, Gosh! Somebody who feels the same way I do! There will NEVER be another electrifying performance like MJ or the Jacksons ever again. Their children will never be able to fill the Jackson shoes!

  • @kalimah01 hey...don't worry....there'll be someone similar..but in 300 years time..ha ha ha ....love MJ.

  • Michael!!! Perfeito!!! Maravilhoso!!! Michael, quanta felicidade vc nos deu!!!! Vá em paz Michael, fique com Deus!!! Vc fez um excelente trabalho aki!!!! Nos te amamos!!!!!

  • At 9:19, the legend was born...
