what a two faced ungrateful backstabbign racist filipino immigrant parasite that guy in the glasses is when he says his allegiance is to the philippines !! but most philippines immigrants r no different ...how do u know ....their hatred of speaking english to each other and hatred of being american and everythign for them must be filipino
guess what the philippines is not the center of the universe and ur not gods chosen race
In the US the only people that are considered the cream of the crop in that society are all white people except for Germans and Eastern European Jews... everyone else is just dogshit in their eyes.
look at the PC movement, it is all leftist white or Khazar women...
it is an advantage if one has dual citizenship because if one place becomes a fascist shithole, one has a way out.
We all know that in order to run for president you need to be born in the U.S... (blah blah blah). But here's another thing I found out today (literally). If you want to become an officer and possibly enlisted in the u.s. military you have to RENOUNCE your non-U.S. citizenship. I have Polish parents and that got me a Polish citizenship and I want to become an officer in the Marine Corps and thank God I realized this now and not later, cuz in Poland the process lasts 2 years (WTF?!)
A few things I have seen...continue the US pension, run for political office, buy land, travel to and from America without all the red tape, girls, girls, girls, did I mention the US pension?....get real, don't deny it...the knowledge of how you use your pesos and dollars....is power....this being said...how you use this power dictates if you are good or evil.....my father chose the former.....I love you dad...happy father's day!
The comment that woman made about having vested interest in Philippines, well......yes, I am from Canada and yes I have vested interested, but if that interest is to benefit the Philippines as well whatever.
I can see that some filipinos are American patriots and that's all fine and dandy, but if you can have an opprtunity to have dual citizenship own land in your country and all other perks why not? i say.
Lol I think cause Rowel comes off as seeming like a smart ass know it all, however I kinda see were Rowel is coming from other than that "fairyland" comment lol. It seems he's an American patriot, but why not have dual citizenship? if you want it why not? the only downside is paying the taxes

people who are against dual citizenship are just plain stupid. if they don't like the idea then they just not do it and shut up. let's see,, mexico, canada, pretty much whole of europe acknowledges the need of some people for dual citizenship.. but filipinos can't because they will be 'namamangka sa dalawang ilog?' oh please..
If people are loyal to a country they should just keep thats countries citizen ship, if they want to became an american drop the other citizen ship, if you want to be Filipino drop the American citizenship and get a green card.
Can't server two masters, unless your the king of fairy land
I see that everything is black or white with you. Unfortunately, there's a lot of gray areas for some people especially with citizenship and law. Let's say you have inheritance which you can only receive if your that other country's citizen. And you desperately need that inheritance. Do you have to choose between staying American or getting your inheritance?
Two masters? I don't see the country I'm in as my master. Everyone is free in America. You've never heard that?
Personly I would get rid of duel citizenship and correct the flawed inheritance law.
The servering two masters thing was mainly about the guy trying to run for office, and in that role I do see a need for the persons loyaltys to be with the country he is representing.
I only mentioned inheritance as an example. Better examples would be longer to explain.
As to getting rid of dual citizenship because some people run for office is like cutting your foot off because of bad toe nail. Just fix the freaking toe nail. How many dual citizens actually run for office anyway? You can probably count it with your fingers, given that you haven't cut your hands off yet.
You know, the president of the Dominican Republic is also a US citizen ... He certainly didn't see the need to renounce his US citizenship when becoming dictator in some banana republic.
As for Filipino vs. US citizenship, I think Filipino citizenship is basically worthless compared to US citizenship, if you can get to keep it for sentimental reasons, fine, but I find it hard to imagine that anyone would lose sleep because of losing their Filipino citizenship.
wtf? i have never until now heard that there's something wrong with dual citizenship. it's our way of showing our allegiance to the philippines while trying to live a life in the states to help support your family. am i correct?
Sometimes its because some have decided to go out of their country due to economic necessity. Really filipinos are some 3rd class citizens in the US anyways... I'd rather live in a country where I'm a first class citizen.
Point taken although a lot of people seem to prefer a life as a 3rd class citizen in the US over a life as a 1st class citizen elsewhere since they can earn more money.
That's what it comes down to and once you're acustomed to earning more in a different country, it's often difficult to go back ...
What's so great about becoming an American? I mean, yeah you'll earn more money than you will in a 3rd world country. But I can go to other countries and earn more than i would earn in America.
philippinos are considered third class citizens in states because they don't have the necessary qualities to be americans, and furthermore, they are even considered second class citizens of their own country. chinese own the philippines.
dual citizenship why not?but wait Filipino overseas remittances are just 13 billion dollars!thats "barya"India have estimated remittances of 28 billion annualy and china are highest 39 billions dollars annually.
In my opinion, dual-citizinship should be allowed. But, only if the person has that country's nationality, should this be allowed. I mean, what's wrong with caring about leaders of the country you came from and the one you live in now?

It also means twice the obligations, e.g. US taxes for US citizens regardless where they live or compulsory military service in some other country.
