i ve been here in 1988. then there was nothing. one local foodplace, and the only place to stay was to rent a little bamboo-hut. no water or electricity, and not one foreigner to see for my week of stay.just a few hardcore german-hippie-gurus lived among some rocks on that little island at the lagoon. man, back then i was happy to leave there after one week, to lonely down there.
Stayed there back in 1999! Love the place!! We used to go down to Mamoos Restaurant for a bite to eat then sit around the fire on the beach until the wee small hours!! ;o)
you can really lose yourself anywhere if you take enough drugs. goa is now an overcrowded dump - even the quieter places- and due to a couple of really bad tourist seasons it's become overpriced and many prices are fixed artificially high.

That end of the Beech is the quiet bit from what i remember. Wouldn't go back. It was awful last time. When they start putting deck chairs on the beech (like with Baga) forget it. Better places to go
just come back from palolem, i can honestly say its amazing! theres a vibe there thats so relaxing, can't adjust to being back home in rainy manchester, im sad now, i wanna go back so bad!
