I agree...you can sing, but perhaps not this particular song. It takes great power and control to sing this song and does not need a whole lot of extras. Not everyone can sing the old Mariah Carey songs. Also, you gotta stay on key if you're gonna do any song a cappella. Just my take on it. Peace.....

I've noticed that you sound a bit flat when you tilt your head back or the way you shape your lips when you make a vowel sound (for example in 2:15-2:17). This is technical stuff but it really affects the pitch. Otherwise, great work.

As for more constructive criticism, I don't want to be the Simon Cowell here, but being a member of the Orange County choir, you do have a good tone in your voice but your tone goes flat on some parts of the song for example the last part of the song when you sing the long note "Awaaaay." You emphasized too much on pronouncing the "w" sound rather than the "a" sound. When Mariah does it, you can barely hear her say the "w" because she goes to the "a" sound right away. But like I said, nice tone.
I don't know where you got those "pipes" but goodness!!! You can flat-out blow!! Amazing!! You and Chrisette Michelle are neck and neck!!! Keep "Sangin" my sista!!

nice, but 2:15 to 2:21 , 2:54 to 2:57 , & 4:03 to 4:11 are fault tunes.
you don't have to go very high to sounds good, try to lower the key and do it smoothly although it's taugh to sing it acappella.
