@RAWRAWRWAR If you intend to read an eBook for hours on a Tablet not supporting E-Ink and without the possibility to recharge your device on the go ( Airplane, Train, Camping, etc... ) you can fuck your tablets good bye.
Impressive, didn't know they had progressed that much in this technology..
To those worrying about the 'black flashing', I'm the happy owner of a kindle 3. gen, and the 'flashing' isn't really something I think about... You know this stuff is for reading books, NOT watching movies or playing fancy games!(yet), and you usually don't get annoyed when you turn a page in a normal paper book.
@saveriope I am a Physics major studying optics. That is part of the technology and low power consumption of the display. As of right now it is just something that you have to deal with. If you just want the pretty and fast changing display that burns your eyes and you can't read in direct sunlight go get an iPad but this display is suppose to look like paper and can be viewed in almost any lighting situation. Anyways, just ask if you have any questions
@x360xgamer I love the surface and look and readability of the e-paper. But I'm sorry that there must always be a black refresh, and from a technical point of view I don't yet understand why it needs to do so. But if I'm not wrong, there are already newer technologies... and probably the market wants to get the most out of the current tech -though outdated- before letting new ones in!
I will like to have this device!!!

No. I prefer the touch screen display of an ipad or an android tablet.
Fuck your ink.

@Duraltia My asus transformer's battery lasts for 16.1 hours, I checked. Fuck your ink.

@RAWRAWRWAR Still every E-Ink based Tablet will run longer for the same ammount of energy provided so while you keep whining I'll keep fucking =)

Mirasol display is more advanced than this Triton display. It is capable of 60 FPS video rendering and it has 16M colors.

Damn, will this turn the "Kindle" into the 8Track tape or Betamax?

@davethedrummercancun No, because those are media carrier formats. Blu-Ray disks and solid state flash drives would be that.
