@Dodo251 Because we can. There's no replacement for displacement. Little baby engines can make horse power but are short on torque down low where it counts for acceleration. I had a British friend ask the same question once and it boils down to the fact that in the UK the roads are very twisty and cars are built for handling, here in the states we have long straight stretches of roads which are perfect for drag racing. The larger the engine the easier it is to make tq down low for acceleration.

@MPLSTORM I got my numbers from videos of owners on a dyno. Got dodges numbers from a dodge owner, and fords numbers from a ford owner. they are true numbers. Ford does not inflate their numbers, they lower them. The 2011 mustang 5.0 is said to have 412BHP a dyno shows it actually has around 426BHP. Ram has never been spanking anybody in towing. especially now with their car suspension. that plus the 5 speed tranny its just not set up for towing. you need to stop commenting on youtube

And the interior imo is terrible, but again, just my opinion. If they replace the coils with conventional leafs, it would eba much better truck imo

I own all three brands and my Dodges hold up the best. GM trucks are the WORST, electrical problems, drivetrain issues all the time, cheap ass parts, its sad. Fords are second, I like Fords reliability up until 100K then its all downhill. Dodge trucks last for ever and can be beat on all day and just dont quit!

I have a lifted '08 Doge Ram HEMI, and I could care less how long it lasts, because in 5 years, I'll want a new truck, and I've got the money to buy a new one.

They drive like a sports car. I love my 05 Hemi Ram QC 4X4 but the new one is light years ahead in ride and handeling. Someday when my finances are better. The Ford F150 is nice also, but just seems to lack something that the Ram has, that fun to drive thing.

Yeah they are great at that. I am more into high performance but Japan is great at making a car that will sip gas and run forever and the vtec is a sick engine. I have to give credit where it is due. American cars not all are bad though. 17-27 mpg is pretty amazing gas mileage for a 7.0L, 505HP Corvette. It isn't the 35 or 40 that you get with a civic but stock civics don't outrun Ferraris either.

Yeah, had they been prepared for the potential for the vehicle to start erratically accelerating, then shifting to neutral probably would have saved them. However, you can't expect a good driver to think up that solution in a split second crisis that caught them by surprise. Just because they'd never think to shift to neutral, and just because they reflexively hit the brakes when the vehicle crazily accelerated, doesn't make them panicky drivers at all.

Oh, okay. Makes sense. I guess I feel that people need to understand that vehicles are being built everywhere by everyone. Honestly, I can't find a good enough reason to be biased against Toyota. For example, the Tundra is built in San Antonio, while the heavy duty Rams are built in Mexico. All I personally care for is to see Americans work. Revenue doesn't matter one bit because that pretty penny doesn't go to American families. It goes to CEOs trying to afford their German and Italian cars.

I am very familiar with Toyota's recalls, which is why I'm disappointed with them because I owned a Toyota for 5 years and it was a fantastic product, totally problemless. The truth is, the people killed by Toyota's major fuckup were not bad drivers. They didn't have panic attacks, and weren't tense behind the wheel. They were likely as experienced as you or me, and in a SPLIT SECOND, their vehicle began to erratically accelerate. And they just naturally hit the brakes, like you'd naturally cover your face if I smacked you down (hypothetically). Lose all their focus? They weren't on LSD.
You know, I doubt you'd survive in that situation. How ironic would that be?

You make it seem as though with the Toyota deaths, that the drivers of those vehicles were facing impending doom. I don't see it that way, at least not even for the majority. I see it as they could have done something about it, which is to shift into neutral and brake so while the engine accelerates, the vehicle decelerates. I'm not trying to place Toyota as the good guy with a small fault. I'm just saying that driver morale has a lot to do with driver abilities, not just the vehicle.

Only problems i have with ford is
1. There extremly hard to work on because they hide everything so you gotta take the whole truck apart to do anything to it.
2. They ride kinda rough since ford puts so strong of chasis in their trucks.
I dont really care for the look of the 09 ford but hey its a truck notta sports car.

I own all three brands and my Dodges hold up the best. GM trucks are the WORST, electrical problems, drivetrain issues all the time, cheap ass parts, its sad. Fords are second, I like Fords reliability up until 100K then its all downhill. Dodge trucks last for ever and can be beat on all day and just dont quit!

I have a lifted '08 Doge Ram HEMI, and I could care less how long it lasts, because in 5 years, I'll want a new truck, and I've got the money to buy a new one.
So for now, all I care about is that mine outperforms all current and previous model Chevys by a landslide.

Yeah they are great at that. I am more into high performance but Japan is great at making a car that will sip gas and run forever and the vtec is a sick engine. I have to give credit where it is due. American cars not all are bad though. 17-27 mpg is pretty amazing gas mileage for a 7.0L, 505HP Corvette. It isn't the 35 or 40 that you get with a civic but stock civics don't outrun Ferraris either.
