  • the greatest yardbirds that ever did live

  • he was only drunk

  • I love Jimmy with all my heart, but he saddens me so much in this video. He has some good moments but other ones he fucks up the playing. And so thin and drawn... I'm glad he recovered his skills later, that was a bad moment for him

  • i know after led zeppelin broke up jimmy started drinking and smoking

  • @Misirlau I agree. Jimmy Page was so inspiring to me learning to play guitar, but it was almost embarrassing to watch this particular video.

  • I love how Jimmy performs

  • You see? Even a god makes misstakes x)

  • Is this a FAKE???

  • @chusss86 big idiot, u cant recognize god when u see it? of course he is jimmy

  • Jimmy Page sounds like shit in this performance. Sorry guys, that was pretty disappointing.

  • Has anyone a tab for this

  • 4:36 lol

  • missing ' and it makes me wonder'.

  • no words..

  • I do not understand how anyone could dislike this. Seriously, what is wrong with you 321 people. Anyways, Happy Birthday JimJam!

  • 2:15 <3

  • Happy Bday Jimmy Page!

  • It will be Sir Jimmy... wait and see. ;-)

  • happy birthday why is it not sir jimmy

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIMMY <333

  • I love to watch both Jimmy Page & Stevie Ray Vaughn Play they seem like their in a world

of their own - an ecstatic place it seems to be. Then I realize when they play it is coming from

a place within that is deep

  • I love to watch both Jimmy Page & Stevir Ra

  • jimmy page is better than clapton and hendrix, in my opinion

  • What a butchered, sucky solo...sad.

  • his hair is so cool

  • i dont care about hte mistakes... jimmy looks like he is having soooo much fun and even thoigh its probably cuz he's highi'm happy for him.

  • I saw eric live at arco arena....literally the most epic performance ever

  • Wow what a performance .....eric jimmy and jeff ...man what a concert

  • 07:28 - 07:45 FUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

  • Heey Evryone :) I just started 1 month ago with GUITAR covers, Themes and lessons and more thing, Plz feel free to step by and take a look :D

  • my friends dad was at this concert. he told me that right before the solo started, jimmy looked over to Beck and Clapton motioning them to join in. and both of them made gestures as in "pshhh no way man! this one's all your's"

  • I hate to say it, but he has a sloppy technique. He's still awesome though.

  • That is an amazing double neck.

  • is it just me or jimmy looks slight asian

  • @11100sam Nope, it isn´t just you. Indeed, Yes, Jimmy Page is of Asian descent; his mother was a quarter Chinese, and so, that makes him 1/8 Chinese.

  • Everyone can play Stairway to Heaven

Anyone can't play like Jimmy Page

  • Comment removed

  • for the first second I thought Joey Ramone had picked up Jimmy's guitar

  • This is sad and beautiful at the same time...

  • co za gitara

  • i personally think the MSG 1973 Zeppelin performance was his best solo of Stairway

  • @Kircy14 Have you heard any stairway performances that aren't on youtube, there are far better ones out here imo.

  • Man, he's completely stoned. I'd love to hear how would this sound if he'd be sober.

  • One day, Jimmy Page will enter heaven. He and J.S. Bach will meet each other. Both will say to the other "teach me."

  • damn this is one of the best version i've heard, jimmy puts alot much of his emotions in his soloing, while jeff beck tries to put those studied blues scales in this song that doesnt really fit , thats why jimmy is so fucking awesome: his playing is so unique ,altough he is a really bluesman , he made his own interpretation of music and developed his own style

  • @bruncen

That's bullshit and an insult to the studio version or any well played live performance

  • @MyBottletree it's indeed different, but i like . his technique was not as good as in the early days ( due to not playing guitar for couple year, and his struggle with his heroin addiction , wich make you lose strength on your fingers, thats why he has a hard time to play some notes), but his expression is excellent , it is raw and very emotional , man look at 07:28 - 07:45,i wouldn't call it an insult , it is different, you got to be open minded , you like it or you don't, page is a legend

  • @bruncen

Hey don't get me wrong I like him, in the last couple of years I had alot of arguments regarding Page, on one hand you have people who don't like him, they tell you, his playing is sloppy and so on, but on ther other hand you have these hardcore fans who just don't want to admit his faults. Look my opinion was always, that it's more important to write the tunes, and in composing, Jimmy will always be one of the best.

But to be honest I just don't like this version =)

    bye

  • jimmy+eric=mind blown

  • THREE GUITAR "LEGENDS" ON BOARD and Tommy Aldridge on drums to boot.ROCK ON!!!!

  • Amazing performance, almost divine...

  • sounds like there may be a couple technical difficulties, but not on jimmy's part

  • Jimmy your the true God of Rock N' Roll, your skills at playing are incredibly badass! Thank You for the Awesomeness of you showing yourself playing the guitar! Plus this is my favorite song EVER! and also a special thanks to, Eric Clapton, & Jeff Beck and:

    LED ZEPPELIN!!!

    Robert Plant!!!!!!!

    John Paul Jones!!!!!

    John Bonham!!!!! - R.I.P

    and Jimmy Page!!!!!!!!!

  • Jimmy, your are my favorites and best. / H

  • such an insane solo

"i just shot smack into both my eyeballs! whooo!"

  • It must have boiled Clapton's ass, just a bit, to have to call out Jimmy's name. Still, one of the great performances ever.

  • Jimmy Page, simply the best

King's guitar, will never have a better than him, using the guitar lightly, without force, these new rockers wasters

  • Jesus playing guitar.

  • qm n gosto é filha da puta namoral !

  • who is the drummer ?

  • @cronicism Charlie Watts, I think.

  • his guitar is out of tune cuz it was that way since the show began... i guess someone else usually tuned his guitar but it wasnt ready or something

  • desde cuando Robert Plant toca bateria?????

  • i'm so happy i finally can play it

  • Jimmy, don't play hero, STOP Hero :-)

  • Fuck Clapton, Page wasn't heavy into heroin until Bonham's death -- this was his phase of grieving, and it's heavily obvious in his playing. I consider this one an extremely emotional performance on Page's part, albeit crappy guitar playing. The shot of his holding his guitar at the end is iconic. Clapton was just ticked cause everyone was there to see Jimmy Page and not him.

  • @BrautiganMusic

page was well into heroin by the late 70s, check the photos from the 1977 US tour and the 1980 European tour, he was thinner than a concentration camp inmate!

  • forget LeBron James/Dwyane Wade/Chris Bosh. hell, forget the Three Musketeers. next to Father/Son/Holy Spirit, most amazing trio in the universe.

  • @makeitrain47 What about Larry Mo and Curly?

  • you can see the embarrassment in clapton's expression..9:19 ..i think he is actually shaking his head slightly in disbelief..

  • i pity the people who had to clap after this

  • ´With no doubts..THE BEST...FOREVER... He is irreplaceble

  • Must agree that it's not one of Jimmy's best, but everyone has an off-day once in a while. It also could be because of his 18-month break from playing guitar. He spoke of it in the 1984 interview, when supposedly after Bonham's death and LZ was no more, he didn't touch a guitar for a year and a half. So, still a great and emotional performance from a legend even after such a long break in playing and practicing.

  • I wanna learn Clapton's part on guitar. Who agrees? :D

  • my god no really he is my god!!!

where is robert plant in this!

  • my god no really he is my god!!!

  • If you have seen the Earls court version and then this one, it may seem out of tune but please understand, he plays differently everytime and don't blabber whatever.

  • 95% of all jimmy page's live performances are slightly different then the other. He always truly plays with certain feelings and emotions that have a huge impact on his live performance.

  • It it helps me to play like him, I would go and take some stuff

  • i love how he mixes the improv with the real song!!!!!!! its awesome!

  • Jimmy´s Mind was out of this world...

  • @DiablillodeOz Aight! But he's alive don't talk as if he's dead ;p

  • @Andrew45stavr Hehehehe Of Course, He´s still Rocking!

  • @DiablillodeOz Jimmy's mind was out of its mind.

  • .... Ande!

  • the three most famous people to come out of the yarbirds

  • @theclassicrock69 YEAH! XD

  • y si, esta re inflado este flaco

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • People actually think that studio versions and live versions of songs are the same???

Get real folks! With all due respect to modern artists, they have the benefit of awesome technology that makes it sound like their studio works.

A live concert is about entertainment, playing to the fans.. not just replicating your work - Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, the Chilli Peppers - all use slightly modified versions of their songs to keep things fresh.. Jimmy Page always uses different solos fyi.

  • when you are" stone" is hard to play .

  • if no one would tell me, i wouldn't say it has some mistakes. I just love this performance :)

  • I agree that whoever writes it, plays it any damn well they please. I personally would like it if JP played it with spoons although his guitar didn't have the sustain in this version that I'm used to.

  • A LIVING GOD. I BOW.

  • Didn't like the solo, he seemed to be struggling this time.

  • this is so awesome, this is real music. there are no errors here, all heart felt music from JP. he makes the rest of the musicians playing just sound "there", not much more.

  • Man, this is bad. Not slang bad, just bad.

  • im so confused but is this out of tune or sth?

  • @TheIzzyGuy its not out of tune. the person that wrote the song can play it how ever the hell they want and noone should say that they cant. dam people :/

  • @coolboy12176

no one is complaining! ^^ is great. so much heart in it

  • @coolboy12176 then he makes many mistakes during the solo it doesnt sound right. :/

  • @coolboy12176

The twelve is definitely out of tune.

  • 2:16 the coolest move EVER

  • I was at that show...great footage !!!

  • when is this live held?

    tell me!

  • am i the only one who loves page his sloppyness?

    its fucking awesome

  • gay strap 09:36!

  • Os dez minutos mais bem aproveitados da minha vida

  • HA, they were all lead guitarists for the Yardbirds at different times

  • 7:46 I love how he can be so sloppy and still sound great

  • I Love Drugs, Cause Drogs makes thing liike this... *_*

  • Un grand moment et même plus ...

  • page tooth oO

  • This was awful. I adore Jimmy and to see something like this is horrible. I actually feel sorry or him. Such incredible talent wasting away so he can get a fix.

  • I want a haircut like Jimmy's right there... i'm NOT kiddin'

  • 10:00 minuts of passion

  • jimmy embarrassed himself at that concert

  • BE SHUT UP 1glassmik this the best guitarist he just had a bad day

  • well that was not as clean as it typically is . Still love Jimmy anyway : )

  • Was he still on heroin here?

  • @mrzoso78 slash could

  • I want jimmys voice

  • clapton and beck to the rescue!

  • Es demasiado bueno como para que la gente no lo admire

  • Poor Jimmy.. He's so messed up here.. He can still play better than anyone though. Drugs or not. ♥

  • su cabello es ganial

  • why cant he just play one guitar

  • What happened to Jimmy Page? does the drugs cause you to loose all sense of musicality, and technique?

  • @BigRed4231 musicality and knowledge about the different techniques will not be affected but you body will be. like how he press down the notes will be all flimsy and sloppy

  • awful, sounds as if he would be starting to play

  • what a mess lol

  • I personally hate double neck guitars but it's Jimmy Page who could complain?

  • jimmy page rocks!!!

  • putz!!!!!!

  • it's sad to read all this comments... i admit this solo is different from how people expet solos to be, jimmy was surely not at his top. nor beck or (especially) clapton can be like him. i love jeff's way of playing the guitar, but he hasn't the ideas page has. Clapton? he's a great guitarist, but he's not a good musician.the real difference between these three is that page's a whole musician, jeff half a musician and clapton (who maybe i the best guitarist) isn't. but you don't get this!!!!!!1!

  • To bad that Beck's guitar isn't that loud.. Awesome solo he's playing^^

  • He's actually a really sloppy guitar player but he's so innovative I don't even think he knows what he's going to do next and he takes one guitar and makes it sound that big he's a truly phenomenal guitarist

  • when youve listened to it this many times you know that when people give comments like that they have watched it once.

  • Never knew Jimmy starred in a comedy film :P

  • Even with some touches out of tune, I love Jimmy!

  • Here's a good example.. DONT use Drugs! Im glad he is still alive.

  • @1glassMilk look at Eric Clapton, he's scare! (bad english)

  • @1glassMilk Yeah but he said drugs were essencial to him to write his songs, and he doesn't regret using them. i liked his perfomance here

  • @Luxmaxnike just curious but how do you know he said he didnt regret using drugs? do you have the interview? if you do could i maybe see it just out of curiousity? :)

  • @1glassMilk except weed ;)

  • @nerad1994 tons of weed :D

  • @1glassMilk Here's a good example... Jimmy Page used ALOT of drugs. including heroin....STILL around to outshred the naysayers....MODERATION....ONE DRUG AT A TIME

  • @1glassMilk You should say all three!!

  • Comment removed

  • @1glassMilk with out drugs this wouldnt exist

  • this is not yours, this is ours...???

  • @emashiach77 He's saying "It's as much yours as it's ours! Please join in."

  • i love him very much but this solo is horrible :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Gotta love that 12-string electric.

  • Epic!!

  • Maybe not his best, but still legendary and even more when i hear the shitty music of 2011

  • Lost!

  • That is what Guitar playing is also about. An exorcism!Jimmy Page came out of it alive and well! Without the Guitar he would have been presumably!

  • He was in the last year of his addiction to heroin and only Clapton and Beck could lure him back to the stage, also he weighed less than 120 pounds. Give him a break, he is a legend, a legend who was fighting a strong addiction

  • Wow now I know why the called it "led zeppelin" cause that performance by page went over like one!

  • Three gods in one stage

  • you can also see he's verry thin here, it's because of the drugs

  • Even if Guitar God was totally drunk, he was muchmuchmuchmuchmuchmuch better then absolutely all modern guitarists.

And yes, we're all humans and sometimes we want to rest, to drink some alcohol and have some fun. If you are real rockstar - stage is best place to do something for lulz! =))))

That's not a shit - that's a parody =) You look but you see only that you want to - but I see all musicians are laughing.

So that's a great video and it made me smile =) Thanks!

And sorry for my bad English!

  • que grande jimi!!!

  • "This is as much yours as it is ours. Please join in."

    He wants them to sing!

  • 297 que não sabem ouvir musica!

  • "heroin river in my blood"

  • Wonderful, better w/ out Plant. 10min ver is harder to play than 4min ver.

  • Always timeless! Always fabulous!

  • @designsonyouinparis do you have ears?

  • we all know jimmy is an amazing live performer. It aint hard to tell jimmy was pretty drugged up during this performance rough time for all of led zep really, eric clapton to the rescue tho :) jimmy is a legend, we all have a funny five minutes now and then

  • @spenceXgaming i was refering to how clapton didnt look happy about page messing up the stairway solo but yes that too

  • "KIBLAT!!"

  • clapton does not look happy near the end.

  • sounded great at the show:)

  • sounded great at the show
