A poem in waltz time! It's a bit tum te tum te tum. The poem I mean, not your expressive rendition. It is a powerful piece nonetheless. My mother used to read it to me when I was a child over sixty years ago. We lived just a few miles from, and often visited Byron's home, Newstead Abbey in Nottinghamshire. I have also been to Missolonghi where he is still revered for his efforts on behalf of Greek independance.
Thank you so much for posting this!!! I would much rather hear this for when studying for my class than having to recite it myself! Your aweseme! Great Study aid!!!
I love Lord Byron's poetry :)

The best thing "Archer" has ever done is to expose Lord Byron to a wider 21st audience.
(ok, the Melville and Steinbeck references are pretty good too)

Possibly my favorite poem. The meter, the rhyme, and the imagery are all so skillfully done; so beautiful.
