It is always such a joy to watch a conductor who is so passionately involved with the music. This is splendid - one of my favourite clips on YouTube :)
Love all seen on this video, mostly to the couple behind the conductor. I wish someday I can be like that: find a prince that love Mozart too, give me orchestra ticket, and voila ;)
Very much like this performance! Just wish someone had taken the trouble to write & perform a continuo instrument along with the strings--this music sounds so much better with a harpsichord to give it extra "bounce". Ditto for the famous "minuet" of Boccherini. As you probably know, writing a continuo part for harpsichord really isn't that difficult--just write out the chords of the ensemble (tutti), following the bass line, & add ornaments, such as roulades, trills, broken chords, etc.
@DonnaJuan01 Serenade No. 13 for strings in G major, K. 525. Mozart wrote it in 1787. People call it eine kleine nachtmusik because when it was found, he had put it in his personal catalog which title was eine kliene nachtmusik. For some reason this Serenade is now known by the title of his catalog!
Very very nice indeed. Lovely texture and timbre. Really outstanding - and I've heard a lot of performances of this. Good luck for the future...I'll come see you when I'm in Atlanta.
My 5 year old grandson was singing this the other day having no idea what it was, it was most likely used in an episode of TNMT. I pulled this up to show him the "real song" as he would say, and he not only loved it, we explored other classical pieces like Beethoven's William Tell Overture (Lone Ranger theme) He is now a classical music fan...:D
i make it a point to play all types of musice 2 my kids from country to rap but u have to love these songs they were the rock and roll and rap of there times god bles these man for all time for making these song that have and continue to span gen.
I play the violin and being a conductor is very important, without them we woudnt know the correct tempo. And conductors are like reminders when you need to quiet down (piano) they will use hand signals.
yes they do.. even if they dont look straight at the conductor they can see the movement of hands / baton from a corner of eye. Of course they also know precisely when to play their turn.. but imagine having like 30 players playing at the same time and they all would have their own tempo.. what would that sound like? (if no-one would give them all the same tempo and dynamics)
Excellent! One of my favorite pieces of music! I loved playing this when I was in the school orchestra, I played the vioin. Thanks so much for posting!
@MissStellaBella97 Yeah! There's a GIGANTIC trombone solo in his Requiem, K. 625. It's in the Tuba Mirum section of the Dies Irae. I'm not entirely certain how much he wrote for *low* brass, as they weren't very much in vogue during the Classical period (most hadn't been invented yet, though the sacbut had been around forever.) You can definitely get lots of arrangements though. Good luck!
I think Mozart definitely wrote the trombone part for Tuba Mirum. If I remember correctly, he picked all the instruments for the Requiem and wrote most of the instruments up Lacrimosa, for which he only was able to write for certain instruments and vocals up to bar 8.
no they're not. the violas are the 3 people to the left hand side of the screen. the violins are the poor ones that got left out of the picture. (they are the ones to the far right) well atleast they were able to get the consert master in the video.
man i totally agree. i think the difference is that beethoven has a more human element to him, if you know what i mean, whereas motzart is not of our world.
What's the dealeo? This piece is in the key of G. This orchestra is playing it in F#.
Although period instruments are used the orchestra still tunes to the Oboe. Also, Mozart was from the Classic Period not Baroque. Something is amiss here...
The orchestra is tuned to the "classical pitch" that was used in Mozart times - which was 430 Hz (actually between modern A and G#). The oboes from that time were all made to play at 430 Hz. And only the ensemble's name is New Trinity Baroque - of course, Mozart is from Classical period!
@choose9one I am compelled to wade in on this arguement, and be it may that I am from Alabama, I think this version sounds good as shit; oops, I meant caca. So sorry gents for the language; please accept my apologies, biznitches.
What is amiss here is the fact that you are applying your insane attention to detail/musical knowledge by posting comments on youtube videos. Did you hold your tuner up to the computer speakers to identify the 3/4 step higher, or was it your perfect pitch? Isn't this kind of like Bill Gates going on the internet to read high school essays and then commenting "Hmm, clearly you should have used 1.5 spacing, not 2...and you should be using times new roman, not helvetica." That's the DEALEO.
