I consider animal abuse to be bad horse owners who let horses live in stalls or small paddocks most of their lives, probably the same people who are calling this animal abuse. THIS IS NOT A BAD THING. THIS IS NOT ABUSE. Great video!
It seems like some people watch these videos just so they can comment on them and say it's "abuse". If the title says whats in the clip like this one does, and you don't like watching this stuff then don't click on the vid. Some people enjoy watch these though and those people that need to comment on them and say how bad this stuff is obviously doesn't know what they are talking about.
Heard yet another common misconception about horse behaviour, from a rodeo lover. It is considered normal for a horse to gape his mouth. It means they are happy! Horses run with their mouths open all the time! Broncs ALWAYS have their mouths open when bucking (a clear sign of stress/fear/overwork). Some DVM's even say this., "If your horse is panting or open mouth breathing, you need to try to cool him down and contact your veterinarian immediately." Funny, huh?Funny Peculiar, not Funny hah-hah.
@AnimalLeftist there are also alot of vets and experts to come up with this sappy shit to con the ignorant animal lover out of money. i love dogs and horses and would not try to hurt one, broncs have a job just like english jumping horses or barre or roping horses.
Kyleen007, u just got owned by some cowboys.....best just walk away right now. that horse only gets ridden like that for 8 seconds....8 SECONDS! they want even spurrin him like they do in bareback soooo......it aint anywhere abuse. now gettin throwed from a horse, then stomped on, now thats abuse. but horses cant go to court so we brush the dirt off, stow away the pain, and get right back on.
@Kyleen007. Until you are behind the chutes and see how much these horses love their jobs, shut it. I call it an even battle. The horse has the strength and element of surprise because the can do just about anything out there. The bronc riders have a rein and a saddle.
abuse? your compassion and bleeding heart is understandable.....i presume you live in a glass bubble in some city and have never witnessed real animal behavior, please come to my farm and watch the alpha mare kick the holy shit out of a gelding thats bugging her......the wack job that gelding gets about once a month is MANY MANY TIMES MORE PAINFUL AND ABUSIVE FOR HIM than what any cowboy anywhere could ever do to a horse with spurs and a saddle on his back......thats REALITY 007
Annd obviously the horse is not frightened or scared when hes in the chute, because if you watch at :23 to :29 , the horse's ears are relaxed to the side dumbasses.
the fact, that these horses have a nice place for the rest of the year, doesn't justify what you do with/to them. It is animal abuse and that's a real fact, which you can not sugarcoat!
@Kyleen007 Yeah, it is pretty abusive... the horses live in a gorgeous irrigated pasture most of the year and get trailered out a few times a year to get ridden for 8 seconds and then get hauled back to their pasture... Sounds like a terrible life.
this fact, that these horses have a nice place for the rest of the year, doesn't justify what you do with them. it's abuse, you can not sugarcoat this fact.
@calishorty510 Let's assume that you're telling me the truth...
the fact, that these horses have a nice place for the rest of the year, doesn't justify what you do with/to them. It is animal abuse and that's a real fact, which you can not sugarcoat!
@Kyleen007 Yes, they do live in that irrigated pasture because I drive by it every day on the way to work and gaze at them grazing peacefully. I would like to consider this "abuse" and compare it to the horses all over the world that are being beaten to be "trained," locked in box stalls, mouths bleeding from severe bits... then a few SECONDS of bucking sounds harmless. Most of these horses know their jobs. See my other videos and learn about all the great things I do with my horses not rodeoing
@Kyleen007 whaere is the abuse? this is the most natural thing a horse can do when something is on its back. it does its best to get whatever is on its back off.
@Kyleen007 ur full of bull shit haha first off they're bred and trained to buck not forced, tht flank strap doesnt injure or hurt them it encourages them to throw their ass up. so cool ur jets chica
@Kyleen007 This isn't abuse at all. These horses love to buck. They're trained for it and have done it their whole lives. It's a natural instinct in a horse to buck when there's a rider on his back, and regular horses are trained not to follow their instincts. More people are hurt riding bucking horses than horses are.
the fact, that these horses have a nice place for the rest of the year, doesn't justify what you do with/to them. It is animal abuse and that's a real fact, which you can not sugarcoat!

@calishorty510 Maybe this specific rodeo isn't cruel, but so many of them are. Where horses are forced to live in mud paddocks and shocked with prods before leaving the chute and used every single weekend over and over.
Thanks you for at caring for your animals. Many rodeos honestly are super abusive and hateful towards their horses.
Abuse? Do you see how FAT and healthy that horse is? How bright and healthy its coat is? I don't see any injuries, and it sure as heck doesn't look lame! I don't see it being whipped, I don't see it being tripped and falling down. I see a horse bucking, which they do quite naturally I assure you.. even in their pasture for fun. Do you even know what you're talking about?
@mello27 it's because its a ranch rodeo, it's different than the bronc ridin thats at the nfr and stuff. riders have to use a regular saddle and are allowed to use two hands.
So just becuse just because its a ranch rodeo doesnt mean you get some kind of super power that makes u invinsible to geting jabbed in stomach by a saddle horn thats why u dont have a saddle horn on a bronc saddle
@Rodeocowboy245 Stock saddle bronc riding or ranch bronc riding is done with your everyday saddle. It is more of a traditional style bronc riding mimicing how cowboys would start colts on ranches.
u dont use your everyday saddle u have to have a bronc saddle because it doesnt have a horn if u used your everyday saddle u would get speard in the gut
I forgot my hat and found 3 guys wearing chicken hats at the beer garden. After a drink or 2 I convinced them they should let me barrow the hat. My only regret is that I had to give it back :(
omg!!! yay!!! i need to talk my mom into letting me do this!! i told her i want to ride bareback broncs but then my friend justin told her about all his stories and fake teeth and stuff..i was like thanks now she wont let me do it...but this..its perfect!!! but can you use a bucking rig?? or do you have to use your saddle?!?!
You can use your own saddle, but if you ever do it seriously think about your rig before you get on! Make sure all leather stitching is good, your seat is small enough, and you have a saddle that lets you lean back and not forward. Also remember bucking rolls and a night latch :)
Yeah, it can happen... lol.. usually it is the least of your worries though! Also when your heart is pounding, the music is loud, and the crowd is that big, it doesn't hurt quite as bad.
This is stock saddle bronc riding, you are not required to mark out and you use your every day saddle. Just like if you were breaking colts at home...
Great video. Live it up cowgirl. But I don't like your cowboy hat. You look down right silly, but maybe that was the intent. Thumbs up!
